a leaf on the ground
more leaves on the ground
they had lost touch
with what kept them from falling
it's kind of sad
how their plural makes them leave
saying goodbye was the hardest
but it was necessary
they left as they knew
this was part of life
but now they were leaning
towards unknown
to the cold ground
and somehow they still manage
to make their place
they still manage to leave marks
on the layer of snow
this may not be what they were made for
but yet again they manage to fit
in just the way they are.
