Then the brits happened

Alex POV

I am falling for Jen.

i never thought I would feel this way about someone, especially my best mates sister, but I just couldn't help it. I love her sense of humour and her laugh, oh !her laugh makes me smile. I just don't know what to do with my feelings. I know Matt would have trouble adjusting to the idea of me banging his sister(thats how he sees it anyway) but I just had to do something. Thats why I kissed her at that party months ago when Jen first came to LA. I saw matts reaction to us and I knew i had to put my best friend first. But then she defended me and said we were together. To be honest she could of came up with something else, perhaps the truth but it was nice that she was protecting me.

When Jen and I went off to that country hotel that was when I started to fall for her. I had seen the true sober Jennifer and I really really liked her. I would like to say that night was the night were I kissed her properly. I felt something between us that I've never felt with anyone before. I just didn't want that night to end. However she wanted to stop our lie. I was kinda glad in a way, we were both thinking of Matt and neither of us wanted to hurt him.

But then the brits happened.

My feelings for Jen, which I was trying to forget about, came flooding back that night. I had to do something about it, and so I did. On the bus I spoke to Matt, I told him my true feelings for Jen and how I really cared for her. I asked for his blessing to ask her out. I think Matt must have believed me as he gave me his blessing. Now I just had to pick the right time to ask her...

I was going to ask her this morning when it was just me and her but we were interrupted by Jamie and Ella. Soon the rest of the gang were around so there went my chances of getting her alone!

Later that day I was sitting on the sofa when miles came and joined me

"So have you asked her yet?" he asks prodding my arm

"What?" I was confused

"Jen, I heard you were gonna ask her out"

"How the fuck did you know that?"

"Cookie"

"Well how did cookie know?"

"Matt told them"

"Oh great so all the lads know!"

"And Ella knows by the way, Cookie found the story rather amusing so he decided to tell everyone!"

"Shit! What if Ella tells Jen?"

"She won't Al, stop being paranoid" Miles says" however I would advise you ask her soon before she finds out!"

I can't believe I'm getting into such a state over this, normally I'm quite confident but I'm nervous and I don't know why, I guess i just don't want to fuck it up...

I walked over to Jen who was talking with Miles' new bird Skye.

"Hey Jen, can I talk to you for a minute?" I sound so nervous, get yourself together Al.

"Yeah sure, what do you want?" She said with a smile

"Ummm... Skye could you give us a moment?" She seems very understanding, gives me a nod and then walks away

"Jennifer I was wandering if you would like to go out with me tonight" I tried to sound confident but it didn't work. Jen took a few moments to respond but she finally spoke

"You mean like a date?"

"Not like a date. A date."

"What about Matt, does he know about this?"

"I asked him and he said he's alright with it" I was starting to sound more confident now. Jen paused for a moment.

"Alright" her answer was short but it was what I wanted to hear"

"Good" I smiled at her and she smiled back

And that was that.
