Thomas' P.O.V

I stood in front of the mirror, fixing my magenta tie.

I was wearing a slick black shirt with brown pants. I had my hair all poufy. I could have tied it back, but I decided to keep it like this.

I think Alexander likes it like this.

Today was the day. The day I watched the love of my life marry someone else. Of course, I could have just stayed home, but John invited me. I can't just not show up. That would make my jealousy obvious. I heard James Madison, my best friend, come up behind me.

"It's okay dude. You'll find another and you'll be just fine. Let him go."

I sigh to this comment. I wish it was that easy.

He tightens my tie and walks me out the door of his house. I went to his house to help me pick out what to wear. It was this or a full magenta suite. Madison thought that was too much.

I wonder if Alexander likes what I'm wearing.

He probably won't even notice me.

I walk to my car with Madison getting in the shotgun seat. I pull out of his house and drive to the church. It was about a 25 minute drive. The church was a small brick house with a packed parking lot. I knew whose cars was which except for some of them. Then I saw a small white car.

It's Alexander's.

I find a small parking spot in the back near a dumpster and climb out with James. We walk into the church to be greeted with two rows of chairs and an archway on the other side of the room. The whole room was filled with red and green.

Green is Alexander's favorite color. I know this because one time in 7th grade, we were paired up together to make a science fair project. We were planning on doing it on how the Nucleus works and how it reacts to proton. Alex wanted to make the background Green. I wanted it to be Magenta.

I finally let in cause he gave me a puppy dog face that I couldn't resist. I loved it.

It was the best day ever.

Madison leads me to a seat in the back near Charles Lee. We weren't the best of friends, but he was invited to the wedding, so I guess he's okay.

Madison must have saw my sad expression. He took my hand and whispered.
"Let him go."

Let him go.
Its time to let him go.
After everyone takes a seat, I see their friends walk out. Out came Mulligan, Aaron Burr, Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy (stfu😂)
They look amazing. The boys wearing green, and the girls wearing red.
After a few minutes of waiting, John stepped out under the arch. His eyes already wet with joy.
This is actually happening.
Why did I come to this?

I finally see Alexander come out with a green tie around his neck. His hair is in a ponytail. His eyes glimmered with the sun coming in through the window. His smile lit up the whole room. God I love him.

Tears start to form in my eyes.
They werent tears of joy.
I pretended they were.

Let him go

Alexander scans the room. Like he's looking for someone. Oh god please dont see me.

He sees me.

He starts crying.
He looks happy.

Wait.
Those aren't tears of joy.

He's standing in front of John. He's smiling.
Its fake. I know him better.
John dosent notice this and looks happy. They look so happy.
Well... John does.
