Hello everyone!!! I KNOW it's been forever, but for the first time in a good long while, I felt up to writing and was productive, man does it feel good. Hopefully you'll all like it, but please let me know if it's not up to par.
As per request I added some music, I hope it goes well with this chapter.
-Possible Triggers: a sort of character death, weapon mention (I guess), anxious thoughts-
Patton searched around looking for any clues of how to get out of his chains and return to his friends and return to life as he knew it. He was beginning to lose hope though, he was scared that he would be unable to ever see his friends again. He was beginning to feel desperate, this may be his last chance to ever be free.
"I wouldn't ifffff I were you, thhossse chainssssss are the only thing keeping you sssafffe right now," The Nothing hissed.
"Why are you keeping me here?" Patton asked desperately.
"Becaussse, you're an important partt of my plan."
Patton gulped nervously, this was definitely not something that he could have ever planned for. "You're saying that you needed me to take over?" Patton had no other idea about what could possibly be the reason he was the one taken.
"No, whattt I'm ssssayingg isss that you were needed sssso I could desssstroy your human," it hissed, now Patton was quite nervous.
"You needed to get rid of me, to take out Thomas?" Patton asked frightened.
"Yessss, you were the onnee pieccce offfff the puzzle thatt would bring the othersss down with."
"He may be the piece of the puzzle you needed to take us out, but you underestimated both him and us," a voice came from the tunnel unexpectedly.
"Whoooo-" The Nothing's voice began, but was interrupted with swift kick to the face.
Patton's face grew wide and significantly brighter as he saw Virgil appear near The Nothing. "Wait, Virgil, are you here alone?" Patton implored anxiously.
"Please try to remain calm," an even tone sounded through the tunnel. "The four of us are all here to rescue you."
"Logan!!! You're here," Patton called blithely. "Roman, Virgil!!!! Everyone is here!!!!!! I'm so happy!!! I love you all so much!!!"
"Patton, please save your glee for the end of the battle, we must reign victoriously over this pile of refuse. We must win," Logan seethed uneasily. Patton could tell he was focused on keeping the four of them safe, for their sakes as well as Thomas's.
"You have nnno hope offfffff winning, you fffour, I will win, I will be victorious."
"You're wrong," Patton called out, he was honestly quite intimidated. The creature sidled up next to Patton, obviously aware of how uncomfortable it made him. "My friends and I will defeat you and we will never think of you ever again, you'll just be a figment of a figment of an imagination."
The creature looked at him viciously, but what it couldn't see was Logan, Virgil, and Roman preparing to swing the katana down into the creature's flesh. The three sides poured energy into the sword, unknowingly, and Patton could feel the energy drifting through the air. His friends swung the katana down with a strength that they never knew they had.
It almost cut the entire way through The Nothing, but it caught in the tough flesh of the beast. "You've got this," Patton desperately called to his friends. He felt an energy surge through the air from deep within himself and straight to his friends.
The katana continued its downward trajectory and the creature disintegrated, they had won the war. Patton felt whatever was holding him up disappear and he instantly fell to the ground, he was exhausted.
"Patton, are you alright?" He heard Logan inquire.
"Yeah, sorry, I guess being held up really gets you down," Patton sleepily gave a half smile. His eyes slowly drifted closed, and the next time his eyes opened, he was in his room. It was all over, almost as if it had been a dream.
His eyes drifted closed again, but quickly opened, had this all been a dream? Was I asleep and dreaming? His breathing became shallow and harsh, but he slowed his breathing and began to calm down somewhat. He opened his door and suddenly he saw Logan walking down the hall focusing on something, it must be really important.
Logan must have noticed him, seeing as he felt someone enveloping him in a tight, warm hug. "It's so nice to have you back," Logan murmured into Patton's shoulder.
"It's nice to be back," Patton muttered shyly.
Well, that was it, it's a bit shorter than it would normally be, but this felt like the natural ending point for the chapter, though, I should say, this will probably be one of the last chapters of this story, it's nearing the ending. I'm so excited to be sharing the rest of the story with you all soon!!!!!!
