Chapter Eleven: A cozy library, a confession, and The End

Hello everyone, this (sadly) is the last chapter of the book. And I'm sorry if this isn't what you were hoping for. This has been a lot of fun and I've loved the journey, so I hope you all enjoy. Hope you all enjoy the song attached, it's one of my favorite arraignments of this song, I think it suits this chapter, perfectly.

It was nice to have a moment to themselves, Logan and Patton finally had some time alone together after the whole incident. It was awkward for a moment before they both went to say something, but were interrupted by an excited Roman.

"It is good to see everyone here, safe and sound! Also, it must be wonderful to be able to see your loved ones again, Patton," Roman announced knowingly.

"Yeah," Patton breathed, "it's great to see everyone together again. Now, I think Logan and I need to have a private conversation, Roman."

Roman nodded slowly and didn't seem to take the hint, until Virgil showed up and noticed the stilted air about and pulled the 'roman'tic side to another room to do something else, elsewhere.

"Uhm, sorry about that," Patton, frowned.

"No worries, though I do believe we must continue the discussion we were in the center of before our, interesting, intermission."

"Yeah, want to go first, or should I?"

"Patton," Logan started, grabbing Patton's hands. Logan opened his mouth to say something and was promptly interrupted by a throat clearing.

Both of the sides broke their gaze from each other and saw Thomas awkwardly staring off to a separate corner of the room humming and rocking back and forth on his heels. He was trying not to interrupt Patton and Logan.

Patton broke away from Logan and addressed Thomas directly. "Yes, Kiddo?"

"Umm, well, Patton, I just wanted to welcome you back. I missed you."

Patton smiled with tears dripping down his face and went over to Thomas and gave him a tight hug. "Thank you, Thomas, but now, Logan and I need to have a very important talk." Thomas nodded and the two left the living room and popped back up in the common area.

"Follow me," Patton led Logan slowly and calmly.

After a short while they had made their way into the secret library that Logan had been lead to by Virgil a short while ago. It was cozy, full of books, and empty of sounds. There was a warm ambiance that filled the room with Patton there. Logan felt a warmth fill his chest.

Patton turned back to Logan and saw the bright, wonderful smile on his face. Patton's heart warmed and he began to feel very nervous.

"Patton, I feel romantic love for you, would you care to go on a date with me?" Logan asked slowly.

Patton's face turned as red as Hot Tamales, he felt as if his face were on fire. "Yes," he breathed.

They both looked into each other's eyes and started leaning into each other. Their lips came together in a chaste, clumsy kiss. It was not perfect, nor even what either was expecting, but it was theirs and theirs alone.

Patton giggled a little and Logan looked at him oddly. "I've been dreaming of telling you my feelings here for a long time, so it's kind of funny that you told me your feelings here."

The both of them began snickering and it soon became laughter, a loud, warm laughter.

An indeterminate amount of time passed in the room. While they were cuddling and reading time ticked away unnoticed. Eventually, they left the library together, hand in hand.

The pair showed up in Thomas's living room and he got up from his couch and smiled seeing the both of them holding hands. "It's good to see you guys again, um, I'll call the others, I think it'd be a good idea to know what happened while you were gone."

They nodded and the other two were summoned from who knows where. Virgil looked up slowly and noticed Patton and Logan holding hands and smirked. Roman kept his pose for a moment and scanned the room surveying his surroundings. A smile made it to his face.

The five of them all began chatting and all was well.
