Trigger Warning: extreme violence during the dream. Read with caution

Ryleigh
I nodded my head sleepily. I could believe I'm burning up. After all, I felt like shit. Justin went to the first aid kit and pulled out a couple Tylenol. He gave me the pills and a bottle of water. I took them. Then as a precaution he gave me a mask like doctors wear to keep them from spreading germs.

I dozed off to sleep again. When I woke up again, I was still burning up and felt horribly sick but we had landed. "See ya, Ryles,"Kellin and Justin said as they patted my head and got off the plane to meet their own waiting cars to take them back to their families. The rest of Sleeping followed them.

Alex, Jack, and Rian were all supposedly at our house waiting. They said they would clean up for us. Pete left and took Gerard with him so he could drop him off at his house. Supposedly, they were getting together for a barbeque and Mikey had big news. Tyler and Josh were going with Jenna. Mike was going to his apartment while Dallon went with Breezy and his kids. Dan met up with Maya to go home.

Zack H offered to drive us home before Kala would pick him up and drop off Penny and Bogart. Zack M carried me. He wasn't too worried about me getting sick all over him. The Tylenol didn't really help though. I was hoping this wasn't more than the flu but whatever it was sucked. I got sick twice more in the car. Mom rubbed my back and I leaned against Zack while Dad debated calling an Urgent Care.

"I'm fine. It's probably just the flu. I want to go home and rest. Don't worry about me,"I croaked from the backseat. Zack held my hair as I started to get sick again. Dad looked at me in disbelief. "She's probably right, Bren. We just got here, after all,"Mom agreed. He sighed and glanced away. "Oh, baby,"Mom said as she rubbed my back. Her and Dad shared a worried glance in the rearview mirror. We pulled up to the house and Zack carefully carried me up to my room.

I groaned at the brightness coming in on my face from the large window. Zack laid me down on my bed and covered me up before drawing the curtains shut and laying down next to me. "What are you doing? I don't wanna get you sick,"I croaked. "I could care less,"he said as he wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head. He grabbed my remote and turned the TV on. He started playing The Princess Bride which was my favorite movie to watch as a kid when I was home from school sick. I was usually alone because nobody gave a shit.

I drifted to sleep in his arms. When I woke, he was curled on the opposite side of the bed asleep. I was shivering with cold though I knew I was burning up. "Zack?"I whispered as I felt the vomit creeping up. He wasn't fast enough in waking up when I got sick all over myself. "Oh, honey,"he said. Mom was coming in then. He explained the situation to her. I was surprised when she carried me to the bathtub and gave me a lukewarm bath.

She dressed me in shorts and a tank top before laying me under clean sheets that Zack put on the bed. She took my temperature. "104.9 degrees. You're burning up. I need to talk to your Dad,"she said and left. I drifted off to sleep as Zack came in again. Mom brought Dad back with her, running into my room. He felt my forehead. I couldn't open my eyes. What was happening to me?

"We need to go to the hospital right now. Something is seriously wrong,"he said. "Ryleigh, you gotta wake up,"he said and shook me. I wouldn't stir. "Ryleigh!"he yelled a few more times. Mom went running for her purse while Zack picked me up carefully and Dad grabbed the Tesla keys. Zack held onto me as Dad floored us to the hospital. Jack, Alex, and Rian probably didn't know what was happening. They left for pizza as soon as we pulled in.

A nurse sent a gurney our way as soon as we entered and Zack laid me down gently as Dad explained my current problems. "You're welcome to follow us upstairs. We're going to do some scans if you want to wait in the waiting room there for more news,"the doctor said as they attached an oxygen mask and rolled me away into the depths of another hospital.

I was numb at this point. I could hear, see, and understand everything happening around me but I couldn't feel any of it. I didn't feel the pinch of the needles or the scratchy sheets against my bare legs. The machine whirred to life. Dad was holding Mom in his arms as she cried over me again. Zack was sitting next to them on his phone, probably texting the guys.

The doctor went out to the waiting room as a different team wheeled me upstairs to an OR. "Urie?"he said. My family stood. "I need you to sign these forms. We're taking Ryleigh in for emergency surgery,"he said as he handed Dad the forms. "Why?"Zack's voice cracked as tears ran down his face yet again. I didn't deserve him.

"Her appendix is dangerously close to rupturing. She had a severe case of Appendicitis. You're lucky that you came when you did or we would be having a very different conversation right now. I'll send a nurse out to keep you updated,"he said and then he was on his way back to my side as they pumped me full of drugs and gases.

*Ryleigh's Anesthesia Induced Nightmare*

"You've got everything that's coming to you. It'll teach you not to be a smartass. It's for your own good,"my biological father spat as he knuckled his belt. Not again, I thought. It's buckle end struck me hard and I cried out in pain as I fell to the ground. "No crying. I didn't raise no wimp. Stand up,"he shouted. I bit my lip and tried to stand but crumpled back down to my knees."You heard him. I'm done pitying you. You worthless worthless child,"my mother said as she grabbed my wrist and wrenched me up. She slapped me.

Tears ran down my face as the belt slammed into me again and again. I slowly inched toward the door. I slammed it open. "HELP! HELP ME! PLEASE! ANYONE! HELP!"I screamed and cried only to have my arm pulled backwards and be yanked inside. There was no one to hear. Not after we moved. I've been dealing with this for years. No one would believe me.

The beatings got worse until suddenly I was held back as I watched him to do the same to Zack. "NO! ZACK! NO!"I screamed and thrashed against my invisible holders. He looked at me. "It's all your fault. You caused all of this pain. You caused this,"he said. "Wha---?"I started to ask and then I noticed the bodies of everyone I loved. They were all dead. Cold and dead. A sob tore loose. An inhuman animal noise.

*End of nightmare*

Nightmare after nightmare hounded me. This is what drugs and pain meds did to me. It brought the past painfully back at me. I just wanted a moment of peace but I didn't think I would ever get it.
