Jeff stands in front of her. His eyes glistening from the dewy morning. Amanda's face can't hold back a smile. This moment seems so content, aboustely lovely.
Taking her hand, he guides her back to the small beach house. It was their tropical retreat. She was so lucky to have Jeff in her life. He was her reason, her muse, the reason for waking every morning just so she could see his sleepy expression.
"They say it's going to rain soon."
"A little rain never hurt no one."
"Yes sweetie, but I'm afraid we'll need some firewood. Though it may be warm now, the night's are awfully cold, wouldn't you say?"
Amanda's eyes lit up, "That's why I have you. To warm up to."
"Stop it deary, you're making me blush."

They both get startled by a clap of thunder outside. It was coming sooner than they suspected.
Jeff finds his rain coat and gets prepared to go out to retrieve firewood. The beach was on an exclusive island. Jeff won the vacation for his sales numbers last year at the firm.
The island has a rocky terrain and beautiful palm trees. The only issues was the island was so desolate and small there weren't many resources there. Just a few other beach houses, some shops, a local cafe, and small firefire and police stations
"Maybe I could go with you."
"Darling it's treacherous out there, and such a fine woman like yourself shouldn't be out there before a storm."
Amanda crosses her arms extraditely and puts out her bottom lip before cracking up in laughter, "Go ahead, but be back by noon".

Hours pass and it was nearing three in the afternoon. Amanda knows something is amiss. The storm only seems to be getting worse as time goes on. She herself finds something to protect herself from the rain, because Jeff took the only raincoat, she uses a light swim covering to covering her head as she walks to find him.

Despite her feeble attempt at sheliding herself from the storm, she is now soaked. She can't find Jeff anywhere and there is this bitter feeling in the pit of her stomach.
She walks to the nearest police station and finds sanctuary inside the dry office. There were only two officers on duty. Breathless she explains her reasoning for being there and how she was fearful of her husband's welfare. Both officers seem unbothered by her pleas. They assure Amanda he has probably went somewhere to get dry and will be home any minute. Urging to come back tomorrow and see if he returns before searching for him.

Ignoring the recommendations, she continues to search for Jeff. The tain makes it hard to see and makes the path hazardous. She knows he must be out by the clustering of palm trees by the cliffs for the axe out back was indeed missing.
Carefully she treads upward and searches desperately. Soon she finds something strange. By a solemn palm near the edge there lays the axe. As she approaches she aghast to what she sees...

Jeff's lifeless body lays at the bottom of the rocks with peices of unlit palm surrounding him.
