Amanda took a day off from work, she was suffering from a terrible migraine.
It must be the cold that's been going around the office. She sits at her favorite chair and reads the morning paper. The record plays delightful music she listens as she reads.
"Jeff, darling, they expanding that shopping mall I went to the other day. They're supposed be starting construction this Thursday".
She flips to another page, "Hopefully that doesn't interfere with your morning commute."
She gets up and checks on Jeff's coffee. Black with one scoop of sugar, just how he likes it. She grabs his favorite mug from the top cubbert.
She pour the coffee into the cup and places by this morning's breakfast, biscuits and gravy.
She passes by the garbage can and notices it is overfilling. Amanda swears she replaced it not too long ago. She picks up the bag filled with the meals Jeff didn't eat and disposes of it.
She wonders of what she can do. Lex walks up to her and places his paw on her thigh, he looks up at her eagerly. He must want a treat.
Amanda receives a treat from the pantry and gives it to him. He gobbles it with ease. She returns to the paper.
It was time to polish Jeff's work shoes, luckily on Wednesday's he didn't have to go in until late.
As she walks into the bedroom she sees something absolutely horrendous.
Lex has Jeff's trousers in his mouth. They were torn by the seams.
"You damn dog, look what you have done!"
She pushes past him and grabs for the shreaded pieces of fabric. Lex cowers backward.
In rage, Amanda grabs Lex by the neck and holds strong. He yelps fearfully until he doesn't make another sound.
