When I awoke I found blue crystals placed neatly above me. The utter stillness of them left me unsteady, but it didn't shake my urge to grab them and sleep with them. But the chandelier was much too high and I'm sure the owner didn't want me coming anywhere near their crystals. The light in them shimmered and an unexpected giggle burst out of me. My giggle was topped off with another, one whose sounded a lot like Eden. His laughter surrounded me and occupied my thoughts until I finally realized what happened only moments ago. Isadora. Blood. Fainting.
I forced myself to get up and there was Eden, giggling at the crystals just like I was. I sighed in relief to know that my best friend was okay. Eden giggled a little louder and a door swung open.
She was still covered in blood. Isadora tilted her head and upon seeing Eden, she walked around the couch and threw the book she was carrying at him. Eden yelped in response and turned away from the chandelier. He turned to face me and his eyes were blindingly blue, on the verge of white. His face was pale, but he looked so much younger. The bags under his eyes were gone and it looked almost as if they had never been there in the first place. Eden looked up once more at the chandelier and Isadora thew another book at him. This time, though, she wasn't generous enough to hit him in the face. Eden crouched over and groaned in pain which lead to Isadora rolling her eyes and motioned for me to sit on the couch near Eden.
"Don't look up." She told Eden.
"Yeah. I..got that much" He said between gasps.
"Make sure he doesn't look up Carlisle." She said to me before heading out once again.
I didn't want to get a book thrown at me but with the chandelier's pull, I kept glancing upwards either way. The warmth of the chandelier surrounded me and I felt more at home in this place, than anywhere else. I wasn't worried about anything that happened earlier. I just wanted the chandelier to take me and let me rest. I glanced one more time at the door that Isadora left from when I noticed the ridges of the crystals gleamed off the mirror on the ceiling. The crystal strings were in circles that overlapped to an even bigger circle. I stood up and twirled around, following each crystal. My head felt lighter and I consistently giggled, the mirror above the chandelier glowed blue on Eden. It was only then that I was able to tear my eyes from the chandelier and looked at Eden who was laying down, incapable of looking away.
The mirror had a blue glow, had it always been there? And just as suddenly as it appeared, it disappeared and moved towards me. The chandelier swayed and a little black figure that sat on the edge jumped down at the end of the mirror and observed Eden. Where did he come from? The black figure slowly dissolved into the beige carpet. I stepped towards Eden where the figure was and the chandelier swayed faster. I held my breath and reached my hand out toward Eden when I saw the beige carpet darken. The hair on my neck stood up and a hand rested on the couch where Eden laid, where a black mist was arising. The mist crept on top of Eden, where he lay comfortably and completely unaware. I stood still, my legs locked in place and gratefully, Isadora arrived just in time.
Isadora flung the door open and stretched her hand out. The black mist stood in place with Eden unharmed. She walked closer and moved her hand upwards to the direction of the mirror and quicker than a hummingbird, the mist followed her movement.
"You two are such damsels in distress." She said to Eden and I.
Calum came along behind her with two glasses filled with purple liquid. He gave one to Eden and then handed one to me. "Drink up," He said.
Eden held the glass up to eye level and surveyed it. He turned the glass to get every bit of it and then ended up smelling it, "What is it?" Eden asked.
