I see Peeta's jaw tighten.

"Gale," I say warningly, through gritted teeth. "you have no right to talk like that."

Gale looked at me and acted like he was surprised.

"Don't I? One of the laws when the new nation was formed was we had Freedoms, and one of them was Freedom of Speech." He threw his hands up in the air, his arm still locked with the pretty lady's.

I bit my tongue from snapping back when I saw Peeta shake his head, barely visible.

Gale looks at me. His eyes looked mischievous and persuasive, like a snake's.

Like President Snow's, I thought to myself.

I must've looked irritated because Gale smirked.

Gale hardly ever smirked,

Well, someone holds grudges.

"Not what you were expecting, eh? Well, better get a smarter spouse." He chuckled to himself and walked away.

I began to walk after him, only to be stopped by Peeta's strong grip.

"I'm going to kill him for saying that," I say, irritated.

Peeta gently puts his hands on my shoulders. "Don't," he said, looking into my eyes. "He's not worth it."

I shrugged angrily and walked away, attempting to find Beetee.

"Probably talking to the other scientists in the Rebellion," I mutter.

I find him talking to a woman with long dark hair and big brown eyes. The few wrinkles she had signified that she was around Beetee's age.

"Ah, Katniss. Always a pleasure to see you." He said, then kissed my hand. I smiled at him warmly.

"Who's this?" I ask and look at the beautiful woman. Beetee pulls her to his side.

"This is Clarisse." He says.

She holds her hand out to shake. "Nice to finally meet you." She said sweetly.

"Nice to meet you, too." I say, then turn to Beetee.

"We need to talk. Excuse us for a moment." I say to Clarisse.

I pull Beetee over and Peeta joins us.

"We found a Mockingjay pin in District 12, and wanted to know if you knew anything about it." I say.

Beetee avoids eye contact.

I notice something shiny peeking out from his blazer.

I flap the blazer off.

It revealed a golden Mockingjay pin.
