Harry Potter fan fiction: Jennie Black and the Auror's secret

The eye

Jennie woke up in a pool of her own sweat. She saw Ginny studying her.
"Sorry. You were talking in your sleep. Saying stuff like 'no not my brother! Please don't let it be him!' What does it mean?"
"I...I don't know."  Jennie frowned. She remembered everything. The spider, the brother...the dead body... she walked out of the common room, followed by Ginny. They talked about the dream and ended up in the girls bathroom.
"This is where the body was" Jennie pointed to the floor. She walked over to the sink and looked into the mirror. She was feeling sick. She ran into a cubicle.
"Jennie! Are you ok?" Ginny knocked on the door. Jennie was sitting against it and was breathing heavily.
"I'll be fine. Go to breakfast without me." She said.
"But-"
"Go! You'll miss it otherwise" Ginny couldn't argue and left the bathroom. Jennie's head started spinning. She could hear the voices in the dream over and over.
"-It killed Mertal!"
"No it didn'! Aragog would never hur' a fly!"
"Hagrid you have to get rid of that thing-"

Suddenly it all stopped as quickly as it started. She stood up and opened the cubicle door. She bumped into someone and muttered a apology. When she realised they weren't getting out the way so she could leave she looked up.
"Sorry please could you-" she stopped. She then realised what she was seeing. Two bloodshot eyes were looking down at her. The tongue was sticking out and two fangs were showing. It was muttering "kill kill kill". She was looking at a giant snake. It looked as though it was waiting for something to happen.She screamed and she was interrupted by the snake making a squirt and slithering away. She fell to the floor of the girls bathroom clutching her eye where the snake had hit her. The last thing she heard was a boy run into the bathroom and shout "I heard a scream! Is everything ok? OH MY..." and everything went black.

She woke up in the hospital wing. Jennie had a bandage over her left eye. She looked around and saw Rose and Clara sitting next to the bed, watching, waiting expectantly. Jennie suddenly spoke up.
"What...what happened?"
"You got some sort of poison in your eye! It needed to be fixed by a special potion..."
"But the healing potion doesn't seem to do this sort of poison so it may not have fully healed the eye." Madam Pomfrey butted in. "I am sorry. It may look awful"
"As long as i can see its fine!" Jennie smiled. Madam Pomfrey looked at her then pulled off the bandage. Everyone took in a sharp intake of breath. Rose passed her a mirror and what Jennie saw was very different from what she normally saw. While her right eye was dark blue, her left eye was now crimson. It had a scar going from her eyebrow down to the top of her cheek. Through the eye there was a black showing where the scar was supposed to be in her eye. But when she closed her eye or winked, she could see the scar on her eyelid.
"It looks..." Jennie started
"Jennie..." Rose sighed
"I'm so sorry Miss Black." Madam Pomfrey said
"It looks...AMAZING!" Jennie exclaimed. They looked at her, puzzled "it's awesome! It looks like the eye of a superhero or an explorer!" She smiled "it looks so cool"
"Well I'm glad your happy because you just missed the first quidditch match" Clara frowned. Jennie frowned with her.
"It's fine I'll get to play in the next one." Just the people came rushing in. Jennie caught a glimpse of Harry Potter with what looked like a boneless arm.
"Miss Black you may leave" and Madam Pomfrey ran over to Harry's side.
