"Ready to go?" Calum stood in the doorway with a winter coat wrapped snugly around his body and car keys in hand. Chelsea pulled Michael's peacoat over her belly, because her coats now didn't fit, and nodded.

"Yeah, let's go."

Calum smiled as she stepped out into the hallway and made her way to the building's elevator. He closed the door behind her and followed. As they stepped outside after reaching the bottom floor, chilled air and tiny snowflakes hit them in the face.

"Shit, it's cold," Chelsea hissed, pulling her arms to her chest as her teeth chattered.

"Here, take my coat, too," Calum offered. He removed his coat from his arms and handed it to the girl.

She shook her head. "No, Cal, it's too cold for that. You'll get sick."

"I can get over it faster than you can. You're pregnant, Chels, your immune system is super low."

She seemed reluctant, but as she felt the chill bumps growing on her skin, even under Michael's coat, she shrugged the thing over her arms. "Thank you," she grinned.

"It's no problem."

Calum opened the passenger side door to his car as Chelsea slid inside, then hurried around to hop in himself.

"Are you as excited as I am?" He laughed as they pulled onto the road.

"Yeah," Chelsea nodded.

"How far along are you?"

"Like, nineteen weeks or something."

"Wait, so we can find out the gender today, right?"

"I think.. How'd you know that? I didn't tell you, did I?"

He shook his head and laughed softly. "I, uh, I've been trying to like, prepare, for this or whatever. Reading those dumb books and shit. And I've been looking at baby furniture and stuff, too."

Chelsea's eyes widened, and she couldn't help the smile that crossed her cheeks. "Really?"

"Really."

Chelsea couldn't believe that when Calum said he'd be there, he really meant it. And now, he seemed more excited than she did, almost. Because no one could ever be more excited than her.

They pulled into the lot of Dr. Tucker's office around 1:15. They'd both skipped school today for the appointment. Calum came around the car and opened the door for Chelsea, and the two of them entered the office.

They were called back into the ultrasound room almost immediately upon arrival. Chelsea kept her hands resting on her stomach, and Calum kept his on the small of her back, leading her behind Dr. Tucker.

"Alright, Miss Clifford, hop up here on the table. Let's check out how little punkin is doing."

Chelsea, with Calum's help, jumped onto the table and laid back, pulling up her top to reveal her pale stomach. Stretch marks had started to show themselves, but not too badly.

"So, Chelsea, how long has it been since we've seen you?"

"Um, about a month or so, I think. Michael was with me. And then there was the first time when we first found out I was pregnant."

"Ohh, okay. And who's this with you today? Is he your boyfriend or something?"

Calum opened his mouth to speak, but Chelsea beat him to it. "No." She answered quickly, slightly disappointing Calum.

"I'm Calum." He added. "I'm not her boyfriend, but I am the baby's father."

Dr. Tucker nodded, slightly confused. "Oh. Anyway, let's take a look at the baby."

She squirted the gel onto Chelsea's stomach, and soon enough, the little peanut appeared on the screen. But, the baby wasn't exactly so little anymore. It had grown so much since the last ultrasound.

Calum's eyes doubled in size. "Holy shit." He whispered.

"How's it doing?" Chelsea asked.

"It seems to be doing extremely well, Chels. It's growing well, and there doesn't seem to be any problems, which is great, considering your age and your high risk."

"That's awesome," Chelsea grinned.

"What's that noise?" Calum questioned, referring to the little pounding noise.

Dr. Tucker smiled. "That's your baby's heartbeat."

"Oh my god." Calum could barely contain how happy he was as he heard the beating of his child's heart.

"So, do you want to know the sex of the baby?"

"We can know today?"

The doctor nodded. "Yep."

"Of course!" Chelsea cried.

"Well, if you look here, there is an absence of male genitalia, so you are having a little girl. Congratulations, you two."

"Chelsea, oh my god, we're having a baby girl," Calum squeezed the girl's hand tight.

"I'm having a daughter. We're having a daughter. Oh my god." Chelsea's eyes began watering, and her smile grew wider.

"We'll make you an appointment for around a month and a half, okay? If you have any problems, or you need anything, just call."
