(7) Before We Leave

Aphrodite's POV-

I walked over to Ali's room, Roy was coming out. "Your not staying?" I ask.

"No, I got my own ride." He says and walks out.

"Hey!" I say coming in. Ali was laying on her back looking at the ceiling.

"Roy's not staying, he's going home for the night, but going to come back." Ali says.

"Yeah, I just saw him leaving." I sit at the end of the bed.

"We were in Cadmus for a year, right?" Ali asks.

"Um...yeah."

"So how old am I, now?"

"17." I say.

"How about you?" Ali asked

"17." I said

"18." She says.

"Really, when did you turn 18?"

"Day after we got out." She says.

"Oh, happy late birthday? But I came in hear to tell you something." I say and Ali sits up. I could tell her I was leaving which made me aggravated.

"Logan is meeting you tomorrow, so I suggest you take Roy." I say.

"Why take Roy, why not you?"

"Because he can calm you down ." I said

"So can you." Ali said

"Ali, why do want me there?" I asked

"Because your my best friend. why don't you want to take me?" Ali asks.

"Because Roy will keep you in check and I'm annoyed with Logan right now." I lie.

Ali eyed me carefully. Things I hate about being her best friend. She can tell when I'm lying.

"Please come. I don't want Roy there because I will say some unladylike words and I want you there." Ali said

"Ali, I can't. There's an mission and I have to go on it. I'll see you afterwards." I said

She nodded. I smiled at her.

"Wake me up in the morning?" She asked

"As long as you don't try and claw my face off." I laughed

Ali smiled,"No promises."

I giggled as she chuckled. I walked out and closed her door. I walked to my room and look at my new costume. The leather cropped jacket with leather skirt and knee length boots. I sighed and looked at my Swat costume. I will no longer be called Swat, but I will be called Red Hood.

My phone dinged with an message.

Dick: On the mission you will fight with Aqualad. We will fake your death.

I looked at the text and sighed again.

Me: Ok

That's all I sent. I couldn't say more. I would be put on an charm to look different. No one will recognize me. I dialed Wally's number.

"Hey, babe." He answered

"Hey." I said

"What's up?"

"Wally, I'm leaving." I said

"To where?" He said alarmed

"Undercover. With Aqualad and Artemis."

"Oh." Was all he said then there was silence.

"Wally I when I do this to the rest the team I'll be an enemy." I said
