(17) Final Battle

Ali Pov

I slipped my bracelet on. Dick was able to make something to protect me from the necklace. We all trained and got ready for the biggest fight of our lives. I sigh with a shaky breath.

"You okay there?" Roy asks.

"Yeah, just need water..." I say.

Roy left and came back with a big bottle of water. I smiled at him and gulped it down. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Max. He looked angry. He wore that same look since Aphrodite was captured.

Batman called for us.

"This is a war. We have two objectives. Save Earth from whatever madness The Light and Reach brought and to save Red Hood. Now, Ali can you tell us what to expect from Red Hood." Superman said

I nodded and cleared my throat.

"Red Hood is under King's control. They have an edge over us because they know all our moves and strategies include her. Red Hood doesn't remember any of you so don't try to remind her. She is not going to take mercy on us because she thinks you are the enemy and will do anything to protect King." I said

Wally seem to shift slightly.

"How do we save her then?" Hawkgirl asked

"I don't know but lets just keep King and her together. We need King to figure it out." I said

Everyone nodded. Every hero in the world was here. Avengers, X-Men, Spiderman and his team, etc. I walked to Spiderman.

"Ready?" I asked

"Born ready." He replied.

I was about to make a joke but I just nod. "Let's go." I say coldly.

Everyone walks behind me but I disappear into the shadows.

"AC!" Roy yells but I was long gone.

I make it to the bioship and sit impatiently. When everyone got on, I walked over to Wally.

"How are ya?" I said

Wally turned and saw me. He had slight smile on his face.

"Fine. Little worried about Aphrodite but I'm good." He said

"Sorry, I haven't talked to you in an while." I said

"We uh really haven't had time to talk." He says.

I nodded and sat down.

"I'm really sorry about Aphrodite." I said,"I'm sorry about you."

"Ali, you tried your best to save Aphrodite and that's all I can ask for. And me? Please! Not even Flash or Bart could have saved me from that." Wally said

"There was plenty of other ways to stop what happened." I said

"Is this how you spent the last five months? Being guilty about me?" Wally asked

"More Aphrodite and me than anyone else." I said.

He nods as I drop my head.

"Hey." he says taking my shoulder. "There was nothing you two could have done." I assure.

"God, what if this doesn't work out?" I said running my hands through my hair

"It will. Aphrodite won't under King's control after this." He said

I nodded and hugged him. He pulled away with an slight smile.

"So, how long has Max had an crush on Aphrodite?" He asked with a smile
