Pain

My eyes fluttered open as my brain tries to remember what happened. I tried to sit up but whimpered and fell back down on my stomach, my back in pain.

Right...

I looked over and saw Sodapop sitting next to me, correction, passed out next to me. I soon clenched my eyes and got up to make sure Soda was alive.

"Soda...Soda, come on..." I said, lightly shaking him using my wrists so I didn't hurt my back even more.

Last thing I saw was Soda jerk up and catch me as everything went from blurry to slowly black then just...

Gone...

"Ponyboy...I really like Rose..." I heard someone day but my body wouldn't move, like I could hear but nothing else.

"Soda, go after her then! We can tell she likes you too!" Pony said.

"Really?"

"Yes!" Was the last thing I heard.

I jerked up and let out a small scream when the pain hit me hard. "Rose!" I heard someone say.

I couldn't answer, it felt like there was pressure on it. It felt like every breath I took would only make the pain grow. Every move I made would burn.

"Rose, answer me." I heard someone say, I groaned and couldn't speak still. "Darry!" They yelled.

"Rose, breath, relax." Someone told me. I soon gave up, laying on my back- which was a horrible idea.

Sodapop's POV:

I wanted to tell Rose, watching her laying there in pain. I looked back at her when I realized she woke up. "Rose!" I yelled and ran over to her. She groaned and flintched in pain.

"Rose, answer me." Steve said to his kid sister. After she groaned again I looked at the stairs.

"Darry!" I called my older brother, who came down and told Rose to relax. She fell back on the couch and let out a squeal.

I held her hand as Darry rolled her on her stomach and realized her wound was infected. Pony ran and grabbed things for Darry that he listed off and quickly fixed her, Rose falling asleep in the process.

"Steve...you can stay on the couch if you want." Darry said, taking care of things.

"Thanks, Darry." Steve said and hugged him. He turned to me, "thanks for bringing her here." He thanked me and hugged me as well.

About around midnight we were all sleeping. Two-Bit next to the TV. Dallas next to Johnny and Ponyboy. Steve against the couch next to me. Darry in his room, not aware everyone was here.

Yeah, we all slept on the floor after Darry thought people went home.
