Hours and hours of intense thumb tapping has really hurt my hands. Sighing inwardly, I inserted the tickets into the ticket machine, increasing the amount on the screen. 1306... 1307... 1308... It still wasn't enough for that cute (favorite animal) plush. Why did it have to be so many tickets? I heard footsteps echo behind me followed by a giddy laugh. A pile of tickets was thrown beside me and a joyful Josuke tapped my shoulder. My (e/c) orbs wandered onto his figure curiously as I turned around to face him. His smile widened as he picked up some of his tickets.
"One of the ticket machines broke near the Laser Tag zone and I dove in for the tickets that spewed out," Josuke grinned.
"So you stole? What a bad boy you are, Josuke," I teased.
"At least I have more than you so I beat you at something!"
"Lie, you cheated," I scoffed dramatically, eliciting a giggle from him.
"Doesn't change the fact that I surpassed you~"
Glancing at him, I shook my head and let a small giggle escape my lips. He looked so happy, so jubilant. His smile was bright enough to light the room. The sight of his genuine smile brought a warmth to my heart, as well as my (s/c) cheeks. Before he could catch a glance at my blushing figure, I looked away and inserted the last of my tickets into the machine. Was he really oblivious to what I said earlier? Maybe he didn't catch on... or he doesn't feel the same way. He probably likes some other girl. My negative thoughts caused a few tears to prick my eyes. Quickly, I reassured myself. I shouldn't immediately jump to conclusions, it will only lead to heartbreak for no reason. Using my sleeves, I wiped my small tears away and pulled out a receipt for my tickets. 1450 tickets. I'm only 550 tickets away from that plush. Josuke, who noticed my troubled expression, stood beside me and looked at my receipt.
"Hey, what's wrong? It looks like that you have enough tickets to buy a water gun or hat."
"It's... nothing really. You don't have to worry about me," I whispered, shooting him a small smile.
"Are you sure? I know that you were staring at that (favorite animal) plush earlier. Did you really want it?"
"Y-Yeah but it's fi-"
"I'll get it for you."
"W-What? No, Josuke. You don't have to," I said, staring into his curious baby blue orbs.
"I don't really want anything in particular so... you take them!"
Josuke threw the pile of tickets in my hands, leaving me with a puzzled expression. Did he really just give me... all these tickets? How... nice of him. A smile graced my lips as I looked up to him in pure joy. Upon seeing my expression, a slight pink hue dusted his cheeks followed by a wide grin. My heart throbbed at the sight, causing a blush to return to my cheeks.
"Thank you, Josuke. You really didn't have to do this."
"Well... I want you to be happy so I had to. Here, let me help you."
He took some tickets from the pile and filtered them into the machine. For a second, I was immovable; completely stunned. Josuke wanted me to be happy? That's something Yuya would have never thought about since his only concern was himself, of course. I thought a bit to myself as I filtered in some tickets alongside Josuke. I couldn't help but admire his features; his adorable expression, his captivating eyes, his bright smile, his luscious locks, his rippling muscles that hid under his clothes, everything. Everything about him was so unique... and I liked it. I might even love it. Yuya never gave me strong feelings like the ones I feel now. Could Josuke be my star-crossed lover? Shaking my head inwardly, I brushed off my cheesy, romantic thoughts and continued to put the tickets in. My (e/c) glanced at the amount. 7800 TICKETS?! THAT'S INSANE! WE AREN'T EVEN DONE! That's enough to get at least three of those plushies! Gradually the pile became smaller and smaller with the more tickets we put in. How long is this going to take?
