A COUPLE WEEKS LATER
I scowled upon seeing the school lunch. 'I just had tamagoyaki this morning and now it's my lunch too?' Yukako seemed to notice my expression and offered me some of her bento.
I politely decline her offer and she nodded in response. 'It's too fucking loud in here. I should go and get some fresh air.' I excused myself and Yukako nodded, staring at the boy she had a giant crush on while blushing. I walked onto the school rooftop and looked around. 'Seems that I'm the only one here. Perfect.' I sat down and leaned on a stray box. I watched as the sakura trees swayed, causing flowers and leaves to travel in the wind.
A slight smile crossed my face upon seeing the beautiful sight. Suddenly, I felt a twinge of pain on my neck. 'Fuck, my pain meds must've worn off.' I unbuttoned the first couple buttons of my white blouse, revealing my bandaged neck. My fingers grazed the surface of my bandage as I winced at the pain. Ever since I was hit by that arrow a couple days ago, I've been having an odd feeling, almost as if I'm not alone.
A FEW DAYS AGO
I chose to walk to school today since I didn't want to be with freaks on public transit. Before going to school, I decided to visit an old friend. I walked in the alleyway that seemed endless. I spotted my pink-haired friend and her dog and she grinned at my presence.
"(F/n)! I haven't seen you in forever," she grinned and gave me a big hug.
"Hey Reimi. I was going to visit sooner but school sucks," I sighed as she let go.
"No worries! I understand," she giggled.
I walked with her to the end of the alleyway while talking about school, food, and other things. I didn't want to bring up the subject of her killer since it would ruin the mood. I genuinely felt bad for the girl. 'Poor thing,' I thought as the corners of my lips twitched into a frown. Before she could notice my expression, I relaxed my face and smiled at her cheerfulness. As soon as we reached the exit of the alley, she waved goodbye and her dog barked happily. I hugged her goodbye and walked through the nearby neighborhood to get to school. I walked past a mysterious, weathered house that gave me the chills. I stopped in my path to get a better look at the house. The green paint was peeling off and the windows seemed to cheaply boarded up. I looked into the highest window and spotted a dark figure. I narrowed my eyes to try and get a better look and see a shiny, gold arrowhead protruding from the window.
'OH SHI-' I tried to sprint, but it was too late. I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my neck as warm liquids flowed down my chest. I touched the liquids with my hand and brought it up to my face. 'T-That's blood... my blood.' I stared at my hand in utter shock as I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and was greeted by a slender, blonde male who carried a bow. I gritted my teeth and furrowed my brows at the male as he retained a calm composure. I drew back my fist and launched it towards him, but he caught it with one hand and grabbed the arrow in my neck with his other hand.
"Y-YOU SHOT ME, DIDN'T YOU? YOU MOTHERFU-," I hacked and coughed up blood.
"Judging how you're still alive after being shot with an arrow, you will be fine. Soon, your stand, or fighting spirit, will emerge. You could call this a 'gift' from Dio," he said with no emotion.
Before I could respond, he ripped the bow out of my neck, creating an even bigger wound. I fell back from the force and cursed at him as my vision blurred. 'F-fuck..' Tears pricked my eyes as I laid lifeless on the ground. My eyelids were getting heavier as my blood spilled out onto the sidewalk. 'N-no... I can't die.... now.' The male walked away and left my injured figure left for dead. I felt my eyes succumb to darkness before I could even utter another word.
