"Get out of there!" Mark warned the boys before flinching when a bullet hit the wall he was hiding from. While gritting his teeth, he held his pistol up in preparation as he waited for the firing to die down.

Damn it!

It made him wonder why this was happening or how they ended up in this situation all of a sudden. Things were under control just a while ago, and now, he was announcing their retreat— their defeat.

It wasn't right. It wasn't supposed to end this way. It couldn't end this way.

Back inside the room, Jaemin felt a sudden chill throughout his body as he looked at the chief in front of him. He was seated on a velvet-lined chair under the scattered streaks of light from the dim lantern hanging above him, smiling evilly at his way. And he only realized why he was like that.

We're fucked.

In an instant, Chief Jung pushed himself to stand up and pulled a pistol out from his holster, making the hem of his suit fly away, before beginning to shoot at them without hesitation.

Shit! Jaemin thought.

Jisung saw it coming and effortlessly ran to hide behind a shelf while Jaemin barely avoided it and struggled to hide behind a divider wall opposite to the shelf. The good thing was the bullets didn't reach him, but if he didn't attempt to move out of the way, he would be covered with bullet holes by now.

The two removed their masks since they no longer had use to them and felt equal anger, showing it by how they grit their teeth as they held their guns. They expected something like this to happen but they didn't think it would end up this way.

Unfortunately, as the boys were engaged in dodging the bullets, Jaemin happened to lose his hold of the phone— the phone that he used to record their conversation.

Chuckling, Chief Jung casually began to speak. "That was a close one." He had closed the blinds, knowing that it was a risk for him to be exposed because of the window. "Who knew the X-Force would do such a thing as this?" He then approached the phone that was dropped on the floor and stomped at it, the screen shattering into pieces.

No! The two boys thought the same as they heard the horrible crunch the chief's shoe made on the screen. The phone was their only hope, and that hope was crushed along with it.

"That was smart of you to disguise yourself as my client, and to even record the conversation as your information." He admitted it took him by surprise. "But I didn't think Mark would put you at risk." This only made the two boys grit their teeth more.

Their mission was in shambles.

Finally, to the boys' relief, the door slammed open and a bullet was fired as a greeting for Chief Jung. The sound of the gunshot rang in their ears as the chief quickly dodged it, hiding behind the table he had flipped. The bullet was inches away but it never grazed him.

"Out. Now!" Mark ordered at the two, still aiming his gun in the chief's direction. He was done dealing with the five escorts and their bodies were lying unconsciously outside the room.

Jaemin didn't feel any hesitation. He knew that if Mark meant it and was utterly serious about his order, they couldn't oppose him.

Jisung was feeling otherwise. They didn't came this way just to leave empty-handed. "But the phone—"
