Dedicated to:
stankoeun jungwowed, for their (unpublished) markoeun stories that I loved reading, SS_7201, for writing The 7th Cabin that featured NCT Dream and SR15G and Dongyucks, for her book entitled Band Aids, which has inspired me a lot to write my own action-themed NCT fic~*~*~*~*~
Two months. Two months had passed since the last time Koeun saw the X-Force, and she was barely getting used to it.
When Mark escaped along with the other boys, using their van as the get-away vehicle, Lucas hurriedly brought her to a nearby hospital. She lost a lot of blood along the way, but to their relief, she got treated just in time.
Lucas didn't mind not being able to capture either of the X-Force as much as he wanted to. He needed to save her partner before anything else, as he wouldn't take it if she died because of his mistake.
Later that day, when Lucas' team and the others who got taken down by the infamous group gained consciousness, they found out about the broadcast and immediately took an action in arresting Chief Jung, whom they caught unconscious at the parking lot. Taeyong, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found.
And that was the moment when everyone realized what the X-Force had done. The group they considered as criminals had been the sheeps all this time, and that they had exposed the real wolves to the whole nation.
A few days later, after Koeun's recovery, she got promoted as one of the special agents in their department; the same level as Taeyong's position before. During the forums regarding the X-Force, she defended their names, explaining what was only necessary.
Even when the boys shared their personal information, she didn't want their identities and pasts to be revealed.
Slowly, their department— also the citizens— had began to accept the X-Force as an independent civil force, although some were still skeptical about it. Now, Koeun and the team was given another task: which is to recover more information about Jung Jaehyun's schemes and accomplices. After all, Taeyong was still in the wanted list.
They knew Jung Jaehyun's involvement with other criminals was just the surface of the bigger problem now.
Things were getting better in their department after Jung Jaehyun got thrown behind bars. Apparently, they had a new chief leading them— a better and more righteous man— Moon Taeil. Taking over, he had let the agents, especially the Elites, train more and go out for missions as they deserved. Also, he had the rule #8, Jung Jaehyun's rule, removed completely, as it wasn't really necessary.
It didn't matter if the agents would fall for their co-workers or if they would let their emotions get them, as long as they would execute their missions right.
"Koeun!" The girl heard Granny's enthusiastic voice as soon as she entered the cafe.
Smiling brightly, Koeun approached the counter. "Good morning, Granny."
"Do you need coffee for your work?" Granny asked once she noticed Koeun was in her usual black leather jacket, skin-tight polished leather pants, and black faux suede boots.
When Koeun returned to her apartment after being discharged from the hospital, Granny had greeted her and eventually telling her she already knew she was an agent. Koeun had seen how worried the poor lady was and explained what had happened to her.
"No, not really." Koeun slightly shook her head, her bangs brushing against her forehead. "I came to give you this." She then placed the food container she had on the counter.
"I see you've been into cooking nowadays." Granny remarked as she placed it aside to try it later.
Koeun's smile widened. "Well, I've been inspired to learn more." She remembered how she helped Jaemin and the others on cooking, and also wanted to become as best as him.
She hoped she could cook with them again.
"Anyway, I need to go now." She had to cut it short. "I hope you'll like it." Turning away, she waved a hand at Granny.
"I surely will!" Granny told her just as Koeun made it to the door, her hand about grabbing the knob, but before she could turn it, she heard a small beep from the watch she was wearing.
It was the watch Mark had switched with hers.
The watch had been the only tangible object that reminded her of the boys. Everytime she remembers about it, she kept checking the blinking red dot, finding them in different locations. It seemed like the boys were still working things on their own in the shadows.
Koeun took a pause, a little confused about the sudden sound, and raised her arm enough for her to look at it. It wasn't the first time that this happened when the watch was in her care, but it would be the first time to hear it beep loudly.
What?
Once she got a clear look of it, her brown eyes slowly grew wide as she felt herself freeze from the realization.
The location of the red dot was just outside the cafe.
Is this real?
Hitching a breath and feeling her heart jumped from the sudden joy, Koeun quickly pulled the door open and went outside. As soon as she let the door close behind her, she paused once again, taking the moment in.
"Mark..."
There, in front of her, Mark was on a black 2019 Harley-Davidson softail slim motorcycle. He was also wearing a black leather jacket with white shirt underneath, dark pants, and black combat boots. His soft, black hair was styled in a messy soft side part as he looked at her way with black aviator sunglasses.
She couldn't believe it. She was seeing Mark Lee.
Mark slightly arched backwards before removing his glasses. Once their eyes met, the corner of his lips curled into a smile. "Agent Koeun."
Retracing what happened between them, Koeun realized this wouldn't happen if it wasn't for that rule #8. Everything had revolved in it since the start.
She was somehow glad that it was made, but was even gladder that it was taken down.
"Care for a ride?"
Now she could finally let her feelings take her fully.
Hearing Mark's offer, Koeun returned a sly smile. "I wouldn't turn that down."
And no rule could stop her now.

The end!
Well, at least the book had ended, not the story.
Before you go crying, I just want to tell you that this isn't the end for Markoeun. People had given it so much love so I bring good news!
There will be a sequel!
I will post more details about it soon. Please support it as much as you did with this book! I love reading your comments~
For now, if you have any question (it may be about the book, the sequel, the characters, or me), feel free to ask in line with this sentence. I will try to answer them.
Please support my other works too! I'd be thrilled to receive feedbacks.
That's it for now~
