~*~*~*~*~

The terrible night passed, and it was time for another day full of surprises.

Koeun had troubles in sleeping last night. After Mark told her everything she needed to know, from his backstory up to the reason why X-Force had been targeting their department, her thoughts kept her up all night. She was pondering too much about the whole situation, and she didn't know what to do next.

She knew Mark and his team were doing the right thing, but hers didn't know that. Even if she told them herself, it would be difficult for them to be convinced since Jaehyun had been the chief for years. They wouldn't believe her, unless she have evidences, in which she didn't.

Going against the department would make her a criminal, like how they saw the X-Force, and it wouldn't be easy for her to do.

Still lying on her bed, Koeun stared at the ceiling, recalling what happened to the agent named Yeri.

"Her car was already burning on the bridge before it fell towards the river."

"As soon as she arrived at the hospital, the doctor proclaimed her death."

One wrong move and she would have the same fate as her.

"She had all of the information the X-Force would use to expose him and was on her way to report about it."

Mark's words echoed in the back of her mind, making her eyes slightly widen. From the way he talked about her, she could really tell Yeri remained determined despite of the outcomes that came her way.

And that's what she needed. She just needed to be brave enough to do this, no matter the consequences.

Without hesitating, Koeun hurriedly pushed herself to sit on her bed, repeatedly running her hands through her tangled locks. I just needed to be brave. Then she pulled her hair up into a ponytail before scurrying out of her room.

"Renjun!" Koeun eagerly exclaimed as soon as she stepped out of her room. She expected someone to respond, even if it wasn't Renjun, but she didn't hear anything.

This is odd, she thought, frowning.

"Hello?" She decided to ask as she stood in the hallway, craning her neck left to right to check her surroundings. "Renjun? Are you here?"

But the entire floor remained with a deafening silence.

Koeun began to feel uneasy. Normally, someone would appear from anywhere on the floor and talk to her, but the case here was different. It felt like she was the only person inside the building.

Before she could be swarmed by her anxious thoughts, Koeun tried to calm down first. She was jumping into conclusions again without even making sure if they did leave her.

Maybe Jeno is on the bottom floor, she tried convincing herself. Maybe they went out to gather weapons like before.

"That seemed right." With a nod, she pushed her feet to start roaming around the floor.

She checked every room on the floor, making sure to knock first before she opened the doors as a respect for privacy, but she didn't find them sleeping or anything. Their beds weren't properly fixed, aside from Jeno who seemed to be the only one to mind about it.
