Chapter 5

I walked into our hideout not even sure that anyone was even here yet it was midday and I was still seething about the punishment. I walked down the hall and into the candle lit room where I found Jesse lying on the floor. I wonder why he's laying on the floor. Didn't he have a place of his own?

I kneeled down on the floor beside him and leaned in so my mouth was right beside his ear. "WAKE UP!" I shouted as loud as I could.

He sat up so fast I wasn't able to move out of the way and we ended up butting heads. "Oww!" We shouted in unison.

"Don't do that!" He complained rubbing his head. I shrugged slightly while standing up. He stood up a second later. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"I met the queen of the fallen angels today," I said nonchalantly.

He raised an eyebrow. "Really, why?"

For some reason I felt ashamed of the reason why and couldn't look him in the eye or look at him at all. "I got in trouble and was told I'm not the Angel of Death," I felt like a five year old that just got caught and scolded for stealing and eating a cookie from the cookie jar.

I guess he figured there was more to it than I was told I wasn't the Angel of Death because he said, "Go on."

"I'm not allowed to kill anymore," I said wiping my arm over my mouth as I said it to muffle my words.

"Come again?" He asked raising his eyebrows questioningly.

"I said, I'm not allowed to kill anymore," My patience wore off and that was the only reason I shouted at him what I said.

"You can't what?!" He asked in alarm.

"I can't kill or I'll die at her hands," I said leaning against the concrete wall. "But she never said about helping killing like making plans and stuff," I said smiling at my own realization as I finally looked at Jesse.

He looked up at me I expected to see him smiling at what I said. Instead he was frowning. "How many people have you killed this week?" He asked.

I gave him a look of confusion. "I don't know five, six, seven," I said but it sounded more like a question.

"It's not even the end of the week and you've already killed a week's worth of people?" He asked incredulously. I nodded unsure what he was getting at. "I thought when we formed this gang we agreed we would only kill four or less people a week between all of us." He said while shaking his head seemingly frustrated.

I shrugged. "I don't know maybe, but then I guess I started to enjoy it a little," I was speaking lowly due to the fact I felt ashamed for who knows what reason.

"I say you enjoyed killing more than a little bit," He was rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Honestly I don't blame them for threatening to kill you."

My eyes watered slightly at his words my best friend...well sort of best friend doesn't blame someone for wanting to kill me? It hurt me to know I've screwed stuff up this bad just because I killed a few extra people. Okay so maybe it wasn't just a few; maybe it was like twenty people extra.

I cracked my neck fighting back tears. "I'm sorry I didn't realize me killing extra people would be this big of a deal...." I said trailing off.

He looked away from me not being able to even look at me. "Go. You're out of the gang and don't try coming back."

"Wh-" I started to say but then he cut me off saying that he told me to leave and I better do as he says.

I walked out glumly suddenly losing any will to fight with him.

Ten minutes later I was back in my apartment room and I was relaxing on the couch watching TV trying to pretend like everything was fine. Though I don't know who I was trying to fool nobody was even here for pete's sake.

Suddenly the door slammed shut making me jump up off the couch and took a fighting stance immediately. To find it was just Jordan coming back from god knows where. I dropped my arms at my sides and moved my legs together only slightly embarrassed at my reaction.

Jordan shook his head at me. "You know you're a little jumpy," He said.

"Yeah well it helps me in battle does it not?" I asked.

He nodded his head then started to stroll across the room to the couch where he plopped himself down playing with the remote.

"Why are all these shows old and in black and white?" He asked growing frustrated.

I sat down beside him stealing the remote and turning it back to The Munsters. "Because I have a really old TV."

I heard him mumble something that sounded like you're telling me and then he got up and fell asleep on the floor or tried to at least I'm not too sure if he succeeded.

"Great," I mumbled. "Now I have nothing to do but watch this boring episode."
