Chapter 4

I woke up quickly as my phone rang to the tune of One Night by Ed Sheeran. I stood up out of bed and grabbed my phone. 7.30 am. Shit. Officer Fox is going to be here at 8.30. One hour to take a shower, get dressed, pack my clothes again, and leave to the airport.

It's my last morning here in America. Damn it. I'm gunna miss this place. What if Kaylin forgets about me? What if all my other friends forget about me? Ugh.

I walked into the bathroom with my navy blue Albert Einstein Middle School PE sweats, my black tank top, and my plaid long sleeve button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up half-way. I turned the shower on and blasted my One Direction on my laptop. The water got warm and I hopped in. I stood there for a minute, thinking. A million thoughts raced through my head, again. I was freaking out. My heart fell to my toes and fell to the ground of the bathtub. I cupped my face in my hands and cried my eyes out; the water from the shower masking my tears.

I stood up a minute later and took my shower. I turned off the water and stepped out into the bright, white room and covered myself with the white towel. I stood in front of the mirror and saw the bruise on my right side of my neck. A warm tear escaped my eye. I lightly touched the bruise with my left hand. I didn't feel anything. I pressed a little bit harder and I winced in pain.

The song Moments started to play. I ran my hand through my partial blonde hair. I don't even bother brushing it; just running my hands through my hair a few times and I'm good. I put my tank top on then my sweats. I rethought my descision about the plaid shirt, so I just wore my tank top and sweats. I was skinny enough to pull it off....or not. I shrugged at myself in the mirror. "Presentable." I mumbled to myself.

I packed my clothes from yesterday that I slept in and called Kaylin quickly. I know she wouldn't answer but I left a message. I heard the beep and I began. "Hey KayKay, it's MooMoo." The song Forever Young came on. I forgot it was on shuffle. Oh well. "I-I just got out of the shower. Officer Fox will be here any minute now. I wanted to call to say that I will miss you to death. We will still be best friends. And, you know what? I will get a job and fly you out for a maybe a month or two. Maybe, I'll be nieghbors with our boys!" I smiled at my only positive thoughts. "Love you, bestie." And I hung up. I wiped the tears the were coming on away.

I found my black Toms in my suitcase and put them on. They'll be easier to go through the security check with. I zipped up the bag and felt my phone vibrate on and off. I saw the picture of me and Kaylin at our 8th grade orientation and picked it up. "HEY!" I yelled.

'I was asleep.' Kaylin muttered.

"I know, babes. It's my last morning here." I felt tears coming on.

'You better get me out there, missy!' she laughed.

I smiled. "I will, KayKay."

'I'll miss you, MooMoo.' she said, her voice shaking.

"I'll miss you, too." I replied. I heard a knock on the door. "Hold up."

'Alright.'

I opened the door to see Officer Fox in the doorway. "You ready?" she asked with a small grin on her face.

"Yeah." I said, nodding. "Kaylin?" I muttered.

'Yeah?'

"I...I have to go to airport now."

'Oh. Okay. Bye, MooMoo.' She said.

A tear fell down my face. "Bye, KayKay. Love you, lots."

'Love you, too.' We both hung up.

Officer Fox looked at me. "You ok?" I nodded as a a couple more tears fell down my face. I grabbed my One Direction sweatshirt and she grabbed my suitcases. I shut down my laptop and put it in its bag. I put it on my shoulder as she came back empty handed, but grabbed my backpack. "Let's go." she said. I nodded.
