Chapter 21

"What's wrong?" Kaylin asked me.

"My mom is dead. My dad is a drunk. I've been placed to live with the 5 boys I have loved for the past year. And, you are here with me." I explained. "So, it's not all bad." We smiled.

"I know it's hard to deal with." Kaylin told me.

"Yes, it is. But, can I show you something?" I asked. Should I show her the cuts?

"Yeh, ok."

I pulled all my bracelets off and gave her my arms. She took hold of them. "I stopped when I moved to London. But...since my mom died...I've been wanting to do it again..." I explained.

Kaylin was silent as a tear fell from her eye and onto my arm. "Oh, Megan."

"I couldn't tell you until now. I was always afraid that Glen might have been watching me or the boys were around."

Kaylin gave me a tight hug. "At least you have stopped." she said. I nodded. "Are you ok, though?"

I pulled my bracelets back on and laid down on the couch. "Just peachy." I replied.

"I know, life is tough." she told me. "We are just riding the rollarcoaster that is life."

She laid her head down on thigh. "Nice one, Zayn." I looked down at her and we both smiled. I began to drift off to sleep as we listened to the complete silence.

---Dream---

Darkness spilled around me. A man in white who looked like Glen pushed me into a chair. A loud chain sound came around me and entwined me in it. "Who the hell are you? Where the fuck am I?" He looked to me and smiled. "Stop smiling a-" a snap of his fingers and he shut me up. I couldn't speak. I couldn't scream. I couldn't move.

I felt a long needle go through my skin and release and thick liquid into my system. "You will be alright. This just helps you sleep." With that, I drifted into a sleep.

I awoke with a big clang of something. "Where am I?" I asked, realizing I was on the ground. My hands were cuffed behind my back.

The darkness seemed to fade to a bright light showing off many plants and orange dirt. A cliff was on one side and the man in white was on the other. "Have a fun free fall!" he shouted. He pushed me off the edge.

----Dream Over----

'THUNK'. I caught my breathe as I rubbed my head. Kaylin sat up like she was awake for hours. "How long was I asleep?" I asked.

"About a half hour....are you ok?" she asked.

A loud knock thundered through the door. "WE'RE GOING TO EAT!" Niall shouted.

I covered my ears. I had such a pain in my head like it was a migraine. "We're not hungry." Kaylin said.

Niall began to jiggle the door knob. She got up and opened the door as I walked to the freezer and grabbed an ice pack and sat at the table. "Say what?" Niall said, walking through the door.

"Come right in, why don't you." Kaylin said, sarcasticly.

Niall noticed me with my head in my hands, holding an ice pack to my head. "Aye, Meg. You alright?" he asked.

"I fell." is all I said.

"And?" he erged me.

"I had a dream." I began. I told him my dream and he sat there, motionless.

His deep blue eyes were a window to his beautiful soul. "Megan...It was just a dream." he whispered as tears prickled at my eyes, begging for escape.
