"I'm Jeon Y/N"

-

| V / TAEHYUNG'S POV |

My eyes widened at the girl's statement. Jeon Y/N? I countered in my head, feeling a weird twisting feeling in my stomach. Surely, Jungkook was far too young to be married...

"I'm his older sister," She explained when she saw my confusion. I felt my shoulders slump back down. "Ah, I see," I mumbled, relieved. I didn't know why, but I felt so much happier when I learned that she was his sister and not a lover.

For some reason, it felt hard for me to deal with if Jungkook had a significant other, though it was not any of my business.

"So," she started, eyes boring into mine with curiosity. "How did you manage to help Jungkook? Did you see who hurt him? Are you his friend?" She piled up questions onto me, making me feel embarrassed and flustered. She seemed to sense my discomfort and stopped, waiting for an answer.

"I was walking down the street," I made up, hoping God would forgive me for my sins. I couldn't just tell her I was an angel sent to protect him, could I? "And I heard some yelling and screaming, so I decided to check out what was going on." I pretended to gaze into the distance, reliving my past. Y/N seemed to believe me so far.

"Then, I found a large gang of men surrounding this boy, and I yelled at them to go away, holding my fist up," I held my fist up as an example before I feigned punching motions. "Then, surprisingly, they scattered away before I could see any of their faces. Sorry about that," I hesitated, waiting for her reaction.

She nodded, seeming satisfied. "Oh, um, I'm not exactly Jungkook's friend, you see, I just met him when he was getting beat up," I finished, putting my hand back down to my lap.

"I understand," She gave me a small smile, seeming strained as she tried to restrain her anger. "Thank you for helping my brother," She said in a small whisper, turning to face Jungkook as she rubbed his head. She showed so much love to him that I felt almost bad, in a way. If only I had gotten their earlier to help Jungkook...

At that moment, I heard some rustling and stirring, bringing me back to reality. I looked behind me and gasped, seeing that Jungkook had awoken and was now rubbing his face with his hand. "Hello noona," He croaked out, facing Y/N. He brought his hand to his throat and frowned.

Knowing what he needed, I grabbed the glass of water and passed it to him. "Thank you..." He trailed off when he saw my face, and I could read his confusion like an open book. "I'm Taehyung," I told him. When he still looked confused, I explained. "I, er, helped save you from those men earlier."

Knowledge flared in his eyes as he nodded without saying a word, bringing a shaky hand holding the water up to his mouth. I supported his arm and helped feed him the water, as he shot me an apologetic look.

The water trickled down his throat, and I wiped it off curiously with my finger. After Jungkook had finished the whole glass of water, I helped him wipe his lips gently with a tissue on the bedside cabinet.

"Feeling better?" I asked cheerily. Jungkook nodded and gave me a kind smile. His sister watched us in confusion. "You sure you haven't met him before?" She asked suspiciously, "You guys seem very close."

Jungkook looked at me, seeming confused. I shook my head at Y/n, though she still seemed to not believe me. "I'm serious," I insisted, "I've never seen him before, until now. I just wanted to help him, you know."

Our conversation was distracted when a nurse busted in, holding a tray full of papers and pills. "Here are your medicine tablets, and a form you will need to fill," The nurse said, nodding to the tray she was holding. She set it down and glanced at us. "After you fill these forms, you are free to leave as your injuries weren't that severe."

"Thank you," Y/N waved her off as she left the room. She looked over to Jungkook fondly. "Please try to keep out of trouble," she whispered, holding his hand. "It makes me worry a lot," Her voice cracked slightly as her eyes watered a bit.

I felt guilty for the jealousy I had felt before. How could I have felt that? It was obvious that she loved him to the moon and back, in the way of a family. Without her, I'm sure Jungkook wouldn't be as happy nor as loved.

"I'll try," Jungkook mumbled, looking away from his sister. She nodded and headed out of the room, holding the form as she went out to fill it. Before she left, she turned back to face me. "Oh, and thank you, Taehyung," A warm smile brightened her face. "I don't know what we would've done without your help."

| 3RD PERSON POV |

Taehyung sat crouched on the roof of the hospital, and barely visible in the darkness, were his wings which were widely spread out, ready to fly at any time. They glistened slightly in the dark but blended in perfectly.

"Jungkook, be careful!" A few floors below Taehyung was Y/N, who was lecturing Jungkook to walk carefully once again. The aforementioned boy winced slightly and leaned against the wall, face a mask of grimace in pain.

"Here, let me help you," She said, sticking out her arm. Jungkook hugged it as they made their way down the street, oblivious to Taehyung, who was flying above them, watching over them carefully.

Taehyung watched carefully to see from afar and threats could possibly hurt his Jungkook. He felt relieved when he saw none and enjoyed the feel of the cold night air ruffling his wings, making him feel free once again.

Maybe the earth wasn't so bad. It was just the people that made it like this, he thought to himself.

After a while of walking, Y/N stopped in front of a house, which Taehyung deemed to be theirs. With a sleepy Jungkook latched on her shoulder, she determinedly opened the door with her other arm, bringing Jungkook inside the warmth of their home.

Satisfied, Taehyung was about to teleport back to his homeland when shouts of agony and anger were heard from inside of the house.
