"...this is starting to get really bad. He's definitely been letting the 'Pink Diamond' thing get the best of him. I mean, it's weird. Sometimes he acts... nicer, and other times he just..." Connie sighed.

She had met with Greg to discuss what had been going on with Steven lately.

"Hmm," Greg began. "I honestly don't know how we can help him. Steven has never acted like this."

"I can tell that most of the time he starts acting superior when someone doesn't listen. But I'm worried it'll start getting worse." Connie frowned.

"You guys are still going somewhere today, right?" Greg asked.

Connie thought for a moment. "I'm pretty sure...Steven and I used to be in on this contest together, but now it's all his desicion."

"Well, I think I should tag along today. Just to keep an eye on Steven. Maybe he's been having a lack of parenting?" Greg shrugged.

"I hope you being around him helps keep his dark side... a bit less dark." Connie smiled.

Connie was back at the temple with Steven and the Gems as they headed out the door to Greg's parked and waiting van.

"Ice skating? But it's...really warm today." Sapphire said.

"It's indoor ice skating," Steven explained as everyone entered the van. "It's there all year."

"I hope I don't melt through the ice." Ruby laughed nervously. Sapphire smiled and grabbed Ruby's hand.

Greg started the van and sped off, everyone sitting in silence.

"So...Steven...how are you today?" Greg asked.

"I'm great! I'm pretty sure that everyone has just given up and accepted that I'm their new leader." Steven smiled. Pearl groaned, but continued not to speak.

"That's...nice?" Greg replied. They continued to drive in silence for a while.

"I was thinking that maybe this time I could come along." Greg said.

"Why? We'd be perfectly fine without you, right guys?" Steven asked, turning back towards the Gems.

Everyone was worried about saying the wrong thing, so no one decided to answer Steven's question.

"I don't know, I think it would be fun to do something with my guy today." Greg winked.

Steven sighed. "Fine. You can help me figure out how many points everyone should get this time." Steven smiled, plotting the outcome of today.

"Uh," Greg gripped the steering wheel tighter. "O-okay."

Everyone was silent again. Connie looked really uncomfortable listening to Steven and Greg's conversation.

"Okay that's it." Ruby made her way out of the pile of Gems in the back of the van. She jumped out onto the back seats next to Connie.

"I'm tired of living in fear. We're sick of listening to you Steven, and I'm not backing down this time." Ruby stated. She was honestly scared, but she was hiding that fact.

Steven started laughing hysterically. Greg glared at his insane child for a moment before turning his eyes back to the road.
