"Recruitment Day" says a big sign while Leo walks through the school gates.
'Well here we go! No way back now. Let the chaos begin' says Leo to himself. 'Why the long face, Leo?' says Yuuki who creeped up behind him. 'Good morning to you too, I guess you are here to represent the volleyball club?' asks Leo. 'Yup, You know it! Got any clues on what club you want to join?' says Yuuki in response.
Leo sighs and shakes his head. He knows he can easily join the basketball club and join the starter line up. But he is also kind of tired of basketball, cause of all the times he played basketball he never get further then the second round of the pre-qualifications.
'I am not that sure yet. I might look for something new. And if I can't find anything else I will just join the basketball club.' says Leo finally after thinking and walking through a huge group off people.
'YUUKKIII!!' yells a girl that waves her over. 'Coming!!!! I have to go Leo, Good luck with your search talk later?' she says.
Leo nods and walks the other way to the gym. 'I can at least check out the basketball club.' he says. While walking in the gymnasium to watch the basketball club play some scrims.(quick practice games.)
He notices that the team isn't really that bad and is pretty high standard and level.
While walking down to the gym floor to look up close, he sees that one of his old teammates from Elementary School is on the team: Sakoto Murashi!
He was the point guard in his team back then, he was the one on the team that was talented and was close to Leo's level of play.
The moment he spots Leo he calls him over: 'Leo!!! its that you?' yells Sakoto while he runs over to Leo.
'It is you! It has been a while hasn't it? I heard rumors you were back in Japan!' Leo nods and puts up his hand as to mark a hello. 'I've been good, thanks for asking.' He mumbles as he shakes Sakoto's hand.
'Want to join us in some scrims?' asks Sakoto. 'I would like to but I left my bag in my locker earlier.' Leo responds to which he point that he will go get it and get dressed.
Couple minutes later. Leo walks in and put's on his new basketball shoes. To which some people react in amazement that he has a limited addition shoes from a top brand that is only available in the US.
'-Kay all ready! so what is the plan?' asks Leo while jumping up in a burst of energy. To which Sakoto responds: 1v1's for now to keep ourselves warm and see if the new people can handle the team.
Leo steps up to Sakoto and asks: who is your small forward?
Sakoto point to a decently tall guy with a blue shirt on. 'That is Suzuke. He is a good player so he might give you a run for your money, maybe..' says Sakoto laughing.
'Suzuke can you please come here for a 1v1?' yells Sakoto as he waves him over.
'This is Leo, I want him to play against you in a 1v1. first to 5 points. 3-pointers count for 2. Is that clear? Good luck to the both of you.'
"Wait, Suzuke is going against a new kid?" "This will be fun! Suzuke is really good!" is heard from the stands while both of them walk to the paint.
Leo starts with attacking and wants to make a statement to show he is not a normal new kid to basketball and that he is not just tall.
Leo starts dribbling trying to force a opening for himself. Leo spots that Suzuke uses his left foot a lot to adjust. So he forces a dribble move to pass him on his right. While Leo does this move Suzuke loses his balance, because of the complex dribble move. Which causes Suzuke to fall backwards to the ground. Without hesitation Leo jumps and slams the ball in the basket with a huge amount of force and let's himself hang on the rim for a second. While he lands he can the whole gymnasium turn quiet and look towards him in disbelief. The force Leo used on the dunk was echoed through the gymnasium's hall even the girl's volleyball club stopped playing to look in disbelief. Including Yuuki who was talking to some new people wanting to join.
'Alright let's leave it at that' says Sakoto who steps in to interrupt the silence. 'Leo, I see you did not lose your strength and touch of basketball in Australia.' says Sakoto who picks up Suzuke.
' And here I thought it would be with more force.' says Sakoto. Suzuke who is now back on his feet walks over to Leo and gives him a hand and says: 'Thanks! Now I have something I need to beat as a goal, and the need to improve! Thanks for reminding me that there is always room for improvement.' Leo nods his head in agreement and shakes his hand. 'Don't think that I will let up the training either.'
A couple of hours pass by and Sakoto gets a heads up to stop the scrims and finish up the trails. Leo who has been helping in 1v1's with Suzuke the whole time to help Suzuke and himself improve. They stop and they both help clean up the mess and the basketballs in the part of the gymnasium they used.
While getting dressed everybody's phone goes off and everyone sees a video of Leo and Suzuke in first the 1v1 and it's going viral through the school. Leo who is also seeing this video realizes how overboard he went.
'Sorry Suzuke, I now realized I went overboard on that 1v1, I will try to clear this thing up!' says Leo in a worried voice as he walks over.
'Don't worry about it Leo! As long as we both don't hold a grudge to each other cause of what happened, then I don't care what people think.' answers Suzuke who doesn't seem to care one bit.
'Anyway, you wanna give me you LINE:ID? Cause you will be signing up right? And i don't see you as a enemy, I want to be your friend and learn from you.' asks Suzuke to which Leo gives his LINE and they both add each other and Leo also adds Sakoto after this cause he jumped in the conversation around the time Suzuke asked.
After walking out of the boys locker room. Leo spots Yuuki at the end of the hallway waiting. So he walks over as he waves to Sakoto and Suzuke. As he reaches Yuuki, she looks surprised as he sees a application paper to join the club. 'Couldn't resist, could you?' she asks while smirking. 'Well I know you saw what happened. I guess I still have a love and passion for basketball.' Leo responds as they walk through the halls. 'I will meet you at the lockers, I want to turn in this papers right away.' he says. They both agree. While Leo reaches the lockers he sees Yuuki talking to the girl he talked to yesterday who he forgot to ask her name. So he grabs his shoes and walks over and says hello to the both of them. To which the girl reacts in surprise. 'Oh I should introduce you two to each other.
Leo meet Minori, Minori this is Leo. The childhood friend that we told you about that moved back to Japan.' says Yuuki.
'Nice to finally know your name, Minori.' Leo says as he politely bows.
'Wait you both met each other before?' asks Yuuki in surprise.
'Yes we met yesterday in the hallway. I bumped in to her lost in thought.' says Leo scratching the back of his head.
'Oh, really? Well anyway want to walk home together?' offers Yuuki to both Minori and Leo.
They all agree and start to walk home.
