Gimli woke up as the sun tickled his nose through the window. Legolas warm hand still laid around his waist, squeezing their bodies gently against each other. He could feel how his chest moved while breathing. Carefully he took Legolas hand, trying not to wake him up. The last night came back to his mind and he had to smile. Another moment he would keep in his heart forever. He would've never guessed that Legolas could be so dominated and even more surprisingly, that he liked to be submissive. This was something, only Legolas could make him do.

He felt the Elve moving, squeezing him a little tighter against  his body and whispering in a sleepy voice: ,Good morning meleth nín.' ,Good morning Ghivashel' responded Gimli, being aware that Legolas was asleep again. He turned around so they would lay chest to chest, giving Legolas small kisses on the neck, on his chin and his nose. The beautiful scent of his hair made him feel a little dizzy.

Legolas slowly cast up his eyes, laying his gaze on Gimli. Everything was so easy around him and felt possible. He remembered how he used to hate Dwarfs or rather used to scorn them and now he was in love with one. But he couldn't imagine somebody else in his side, nobody else could fit him this well. They were like the sky and the earth, completely different but still inseparable. Their gaze met and for a second they got lost in auch other eyes again, looking in each other soul, seeing the pain and the suffer but also the joy and love captured inside of it.
,We should get up' said Legolas in a low voice, ,breakfast will be served soon'. As he stood up his naked body reflected the sunbeams, making him gleam bright like the Star of Eärendil. ,You are so beautiful' said Gimli, still laying in silk sheets. The Elve turned around blushing a little bit ,thank you, meleth'. His answer was shy and modest as if he'd never considered himself worth the description beautiful.

,You are not aware of your charisma, the energy you fill every room with. It is not like Aragorn's or Gandalf's dominant and feral, no... it is much...softer, you could say inconspicuous,at first sight, but than it starts to lay down on everybody like frosty rime on a cold winter morning, beguiling them with its loveliness, providing comfort and calm...' he paused for a second, too amazed by the gracious creature in front of him. He memorized every little detail of his body, like the small scar on his knee, invisible if you didn't knew about it, or his swift hands that could create those beautiful braids but also destroy thousands of life's.

,Thank you, for those beautiful words.' replied Legolas, he was so overwhelmed by the kindness of his lovers words that he couldn't reply any more even though he had so much in mind. It has been a long time since somebody acknowledged his beauty with words like Gimlis. He turned around to Gimli, crawling over the bed to sit an his lap. The dwarf grabbed his ass while Legolas kissed him passionately, holding his head and fondling through his hair. He moved back from the kiss looking deep in the Dwarfs eyes ,you are my everything, never forget that' the words stumbled out of his mouth and Gimlis sensed that he really meant it. He could feel how overcome the Elve was by feelings und could feel how heavy his tongue must be.

,Let's get dressed. The action last night made me really hungry.' Gimli smirked while remembered their encounter. Legolas smiled back and gave Gimli a last, gentle kiss before leaving their room, holding hands. They weren't scared to show their love in a closed space like this, which seemed so far from reality.
They ate breakfast together, Merry and Pippin telling funny stories and the rest of group joined their laughter. The atmosphere was light and jolly, making making it seem impossible to be a bad day.
After breakfast, Gimli and Legolas went for a walk and the Dwarf could sense that something was wrong with his lover. It was like a shadow of his, that followed him all the time. He saw that the Elf didn't feel comfortable in a big, crowded city like Minas Tirith, that was nothing like Mirkwood or the endless lands they had travelled together. And Gimli missed the freedom that came with traveling, the daily adventures and the intimate time with Legolas.

,We should leave Minas Tirith', started Legolas. We've been here for long enough and I have a bad feeling in my guts, that something bad will happen.' Gimli recognized the upcoming fear in those beautiful blue eyes, the pain of knowing that something horrible will happen but not what it will be.
,All right. This place isn't made for us anyway. It's a city of men, filled with their customs and behavior. When do you want to leave?' ,As soon as possible. As I said, I have a disquieting foreboding.' Gimli nodded, taking Legolas hand, who stared into the distance. ,Everything will change' he mumbled, more to himself.

He didn't talk much the rest of the day, lost in thoughts, breaking his head over the possible upcoming events. The Dwarf could say for sure now, that the bad foreboding from Legolas would come true, it always did when he acted like that, isolating himself, mumbling, the fear in his eyes. ,Will we even get a chance to leave the white city, of is it already too late?' asked Gimli himself.
A strong anxiety started to spread in his body, beginning in his guts, filling it like a liquid, dispensing in his arms, his legs, his chest, crawling up his throat, suffocating him. It was everywhere leaving no place for his organs. Suddenly he felt two hands on his knees, he must have sat down without knowing, and a pair of ocean eyes looked at him, calming him immediately. ,What's wrong, meleth?' those words worked like a balm, cleaning his throat and allowing him to breathe again. The world appeared clear again.
,You stumbled and I guided you to a seat.' Legolas voice sounded concerned. ,It's alright.' a short answer, hoping that the lie wasn't detected but the Elve knew him to well and he felt his gaze resting on him not letting him go.

,I just know this look of yours...' started the Dwarf, still dizzy ,your eyes are restless, wandering through the dark forebodings in your head. Something bad is going to happen and MY sense tells me it's because of us.' It was silent for a few minutes, both lost in thoughts again when Gimli continued ,you're right, we should, no..., we have to leave Minas Tirith.'
