"You know, I still can't get used to your hair like this," Reese commented. Malcolm, Reese, and I were watching TV while Dewey and Lois set the table for dinner.
"It's your fault! You put g-," suddenly a hand snaked around my shoulder, and covered my mouth. Malcolm and Reese waited until their mother walked away into the other room before Malcolm gave Reese the okay to let me go. Reese, however, did not see Malcolm's signal, so I bit his hand.
"Ow," Reese yelped and I laughed. Reese raised his fist up and I flinched, holding my arms in front of my face.
"REESE! Don't you dare! It's time to eat, anyways," Lois called when she entered back into the kitchen. The three of us ran over to the table and sat down in our usual spots. Hal soon came out of the hallway and sat down as well.
A couple minutes passed and we were all just talking about random stuff.
"And then there's a big explosion and lots of bubbles, and that's where babies come from," Dewey smiled finishing his story. We all laughed playfully with him.
"Look, I made a pea angel," Hal giggled, showing off his plate.
"Haha, 'pea'," Reese giggled quietly. I kicked him under the table, and he returned my gesture harder.
"Oh, you're a pea angel," Lois responded to Hal, "and stop playing with your food." Lois looked angry. We all went quiet. Then she flashed us her food covered teeth with a big smile, and we all continued to laugh.
"Oh, Mom," Reese sighed innocently, holding a spoon full of mashed potatoes like a catapult. Everyone stopped laughing and silence fell.
"Don't you dare," Lois warned.
"Relax, I wasn't really going to," Reese reassured.
"Then don't."
"I wasn't going to!"
"Then don't"
"Well, don't accuse me of something that I wasn't going to do!" Oh lord! Reese just put the spoon down!
"You're going to throw that at Mom?" Dewey asked shocked.
"I wasn't going to!"
"Reese, I'm warning you."
"I wasn't going to! But if you think I would, maybe I should!"
"Great," I sighed taking another spoon full of mash potatoes and shoveling it into my mouth. Hey, I'm hungry!
"Just put the spoon down and apologize," Lois sighed.
"Apologize for what? I wasn't going to do anything! Just stop talking and let me think!" Before anyone had time to say anything mash potatoes were splashed onto Lois's face by none other than Hal.
"What do you think you're doing?" Lois asked wiping the food off of her face with her fingers.
"Being cute and spontaneous?" Hal laughed nervously. Lois then started to laugh and soon we were all laughing. The laughter fell and Reese still had his spoon aimed at Lois.
"Don't do it," she reminded him.
"I wasn't going to!"
"Jesus, Reese! Just shut up, put the damn spoon down, and continue eating!" I finally shouted. Reese turned his attention towards me and before I could say more he had thrown the potatoes at me. Everyone started to laugh again.
"I'm gonna kill you!" I yelled. Letting my anger get the best of me, I tackled Reese out of his chair. I love having dinner at the Wilkerson's.
