OLD A/N: Don't worry I'm not ending or canceling this story. I just might not be writing for a while. Just today my dog, Ernie, passed away. He was 14 and couldn't walk anymore. I can't stop crying so idk when I'm gonna update next. I just wanted to let you guys know. Thank you for all the support! I love all of you! 💕
How could I like someone like Reese? He has no regard or regret for anything he does. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. There is no way he likes me and I definitely can't like him, that's for sure.
I kept telling myself this for weeks, and every time I said these words, it sounded more fake the next time around. I truly didn't believe Reese could genuinely care about me.
While I know Reese did me a solid by breaking Spath's face in, I didn't think he did it for any other reason than to hurt someone. Reese loved to get into physical altercation more often than not, and he took almost every opportunity life threw at him to do so.
During the weekend, Malcolm, Reese, Dewey, and I were sitting on the Wilkerson's couch watching TV while Lois vacuumed the floor.
"Feet!" Lois shouted as she attempted to vacuum the rug between where we sat and the coffee table our feet were upon. When we didn't move quick enough, she bulldozed through our legs, making Dewey drop his sandwich.
"My sandwich!" Dewey whined.
"It's my sandwich now," Lois exclaimed as she continued to vacuum towards the kitchen. Hal suddenly rushed into the house exclaiming that there was a moving van outside. We all ran towards the window and watched the new family that was moving into the house on the opposite side of the Wilkerson's.
"Oo, an espresso maker! Leather couch... I'm thinking upscale professional," Hal described, watching the movers unpack the contents from the large truck.
"Well if they're moving here, they haven't managed their money very well," Lois admitted. She was right though.
Families were constantly moving in and out of that house due to the Wilkerson's shenanigans. They caught one of them on fire, and Hal ran over a dog.
The Wilkerson's made it their mission to approach the new neighbors first, and when Reese saw Mrs. Schneider circling the area, they knew it was time to make their move.
Later that day, the new neighbors invited the Wilkerson's to their pool and to have a barbecue. They said I could come along as well. When I arrived in their backyard, I saw Lois and a woman talking by the table, Hal and the man preparing the food, Malcolm, Dewey, and the boy sitting by the edge of the pool, and Reese and the little girl swimming.
I had put on my bathing suit before I left, and I brought my beach towel with me as well. As I approached the table, Lois saw me and smiled.
"Hey, Sweetie! Go have fun, you can leave your stuff over there with the boys'," Lois exclaimed happily. Wow... it's weird seeing her acting nice...
I followed the direction her fingers pointed and I saw a chair with towels on it. I walked over to the chair and placed my stuff down. Reese saw that I arrived and approached me.
"Toni, hurry up, and get in!"
"Hold on! I'm coming!" I shouted back and jumped into the pool. When I surfaced, I saw Reese right in front of me with his cheeks all puffed up. Suddenly, Reese spit water in my face, and I ducked under the water for cover.
When I knew he was done, I swam back up and heard the sound of laughter.
"You're so gross!"
"I know," Reese laughed cheekily.
