Chapter 21

Annabeth

I think it's talking about Leo and Percy.

I REALLY wish it wasn't though. This is going to be his THIRD freaking great prophecy.

We were all supposed to be moving on with our lives. Piper and Jason moving in together, and getting jobs. Me finishing college, eventually settling down with Percy and having kids.

The same goes for everyone else.

I sneak out to Percy's cabin. I knock.

Percy greets me at the door. I walk in and give a curt nod to Aspen. Aspen continues staring off into space, in the corner, slumped against the wall.

I don't know what he's worried about. Unless the prophecy is about him, not Percy. And this makes me think about relationships. Which makes me think about the conversation me and the girls had at the beach earlier. Is Aspen in love with Leo?

I sneak a quick look at him again.

I'll get the information out of him some other time.

I end up falling asleep talking with Percy. In the morning I wake up to find that Aspen is watching us with a strange look on his face.

I sit up, and stare at him.

"Why are you watching us?" I question.

"I wish that I could be like you two." He answers truthfully.

"Why do you want to be like us? Wait, are you saying you're with someone?" I raise my eyebrow.

I don't think Aspen was watching us sleep because he is some creeper. But I think he wants to be able to do what we are doing, LITERALLY. With the person he likes.

"Yes. But please, don't tell anyone." He says, tiredly. He looks like Hades. He had bag under his eyes. And he is slumped over on the floor. It looks like he hasn't slept at all last night.

"Are you okay?" I ask.

He stares at me. He doesn't answer.

I hear a knock, and head to open the door. It's no secret that I sleep in Percy's cabin.

It's Leo.

He looks at me.

I look at him.

We continue watching each other.

"Is it time?" I ask.

He nods . Then he turns away, and starts walking.

I feel bad for him.

He has no one to get him through this. Except for Aspen. But it's clear that him and Aspen may be family, but they still have a rocky relationship. Leo did basically abandon him.

I had a dream last night. It was so real. And, if anyone ever found out about it, I'd probably die. It was about Aspen.

He had his hands in my hair. He trailed his kisses down my throat. I find myself lost in thought. And for once, these THOUGHTS aren't negative. Though, it's not exactly positive either. ;)

(Sorry for any of you guys who ship Caleo. I basically butchered that ship.)

I am pulled back to reality by a shout.

It's Frank.

I blush. Is it weird that I feel like I should wash my mouth with soap?

"Leo, we need to talk."

My stomach starts knotting.

"Yeah?" I ask, uncertainly.

"So, lately, everything has been so fast-paced. And I just wondered if we could talk about Hazel for a sec."
