William thought about Hanna a lot. He tried to justify what she did, but every answer fell short. She had betrayed him and his father. She'd left, and then she'd left for good.

All she was was a traitor. She'd made them trust her, and then she'd gone and blown that up. And Diana was just like her. She made William and John trust her, but she was never there for him.

Everyone in his life was out for him.

He stopped trusting people entirely. Diana had been the one William was blaming for the past few years, but his run in with Hanna made him realize the truth.

His mother was to blame. She'd set him on this path by leaving. She'd destroyed their trust.

And Elle didn't actually love him. There was no way. She was the polar opposite of William. She was just with him for some benefit. William didn't know what benefits, but he would find out.

Everyone in his life wanted William to be dragged down to nothing. So William started to think of them as nothing.
