I never said anything about Gene to anyone. It was a simple study session for all they know, Lyla has her suspicions though. After all... I did come home with his jacket..

I quietly shut my bedroom door, it was early morning and no one was awake. I was going to meet up with Gene to discuss what happened...
"Where the hell are you going?" A female voice said.

I nearly pissed myself, I turned around to see Lyla, crossing her arms.
"A walk," I said.
She looked at me and smiled, "You're going to meet with Gene, aren't you?"
"What? No. I like walking," I said.
"At 8 AM in the morning?" She questioned.
"Best time to do it, not a lot of people," I shrugged.
"With Gene's hoodie?" She pointed out.

I looked down at the hoodie, and smiled at it...

"It's comfy," I shrugged again.
"Did something happen between you two?" She asked.
"Leaving now," I said walking away.
She gasped, "Something did!"

I continued to walk downstairs as she quietly yelled at me.
"I knew something happened! The day of your last study session! Oh my Irene," she paused, "Did you two do it?"
"What?! Ew! No!" I said, "I'm leaving now."

I closed the front door and grabbed my phone, texting Gene.

Y- Lyla is onto us.

G- Crap. Come to the cafe. We'll talk there.

Y- Can we meet somewhere more private? I don't think the cafe is even open.

G- Ok, meet me at the cafe and we'll go chill in the barn.

Y- Literally cuz that barn is freezing.

G- Haha. Ya it is.

Y- On my way then.

G- See ya when u get here

I plug in my headphones and put on some music as I walked to the cafe. I kept thinking about the kiss... Did it mean anything to him? If so, what'll happen from here?

I looked down at my phone to change the song, when I was pushed down into the snow.
"What the hell!" I shouted.

I looked up to see Garroth staring down at me, "Sorry..." he held out a hand.

I denied, standing up myself, brushing off the snow.
"Watch where you're going next time..." I glared.
He just looked at me, "You look good..."
I glared, "Ya, I have people who give a shit now. If you don't mind, I have somewhere to be."
I started to walk away, when I heard Garroth say something, "I'm sorry..."

I ignored it, and kept walking... It's too early for this shit.

I sat in the cafe booth and scared the shit out of Gene, who was staring at his phone.
I laughed a bit, "You good?"
He chuckled, "Yeah. I'm fine. You just scared the living fuck outta me."
I smiled at him and he put his phone away, we both looked at each other.

"Soo... What did you wanna talk about?" I asked.
"Oh! Yeah..." he scratched his head, "I wanna talk about what happened at the park..."
I held my breath, "Okay..."

He took a deep breath, "I was wondering... If you'd like to go on a date with me. Because honestly... I really like you. I don't kiss girls for no reason, if you don't want to, that's okay. I'll understand. I was just.. curious."
I smiled slightly, I've never been asked out, because normally I don't stick around long enough.
"I will go one a date with you, on one condition," I started, "No one will ever know, and it has to be in a private area."
"What? Embarrassed to date me?" He smirked.
"Literally, all of my friends hate you. Besides Lyla, she's cool," I smiled.
Gene laughed a bit, "Okay. This Saturday, I'll pick you up at seven."

I smiled a bit and nodded, "Sounds good."

We both walked out of the cafe and went our separate ways... Now to get approval from Laurence for this date...

"No."
"Why?" I asked.
"Gene is a manipulative asshole! I won't let my sister date him," Laurence crossed his arms.
"It's one date!" I said.

Laurence walked into his room and sat down, but I followed him.
"You owe me this! Gene has been there for me since you weren't, I'm going. I'll just get Cadenza's approval," I shrugged.
"(Y/n), I understand that you like him, but we don't know what's happening with the Ro'meave's and the last thing I want, is for you to get taken away or sent away! I'm saying no because I care," Laurence explained, "You're my sister and I care."

I smirked at him, "You just called me your sister. Twice."
"Aren't you? I mean, I've treated you like family for as long as I've known you. You may not be adopted by us, but I consider you my sister and Hayden thinks of you as his daughter," Laurence smiled.
"One date, that's all. It's this Saturday and he's picking me up at 7," I said.
Laurence sighed in defeat, "Fine... But be home by 10!"

I smiled, "Thank you..."

I looked down to see Charlie rubbing against my leg, I picked him up and walked upstairs.

What a great day it's been...
