Ivy's P.O.V.
"What was that?" Nick yelled angrily at me as soon as he got in the car.
"What?" I asked innocently.
"You just dissed all my friends!" I shrugged my shoulders. He glared at me but didn't say anything else. We drove the rest of the way in silence.
We pulled into the driveway and I hopped out quickly. Obviously not quickly enough, because Nick followed me and grabbed me around the waist before I could reach the door.
"Grr!" I growled at him, struggling to get out of his grasp.
"Ivy. Seriously, are you always gonna be like this around my friends?" he looked down at me, and I stopped struggling as his eyes bore into mine.
"Maybbeee..." I sang goofily. He sighed. "Well, why should I be nice to them? Their all ignorant idiots, preps, sluts, that type. It's not like I would hang out with them normally."
Nick looked sad, but he set me down carefully. I jumped away and raced for the door.
"Wanna go swimming?" I called over my shoulder.
"Sure. Umm... I'll have to go back to my place to get a suit though." He grinned at me. I nodded and raced upstairs to my room. I grabbed my suit, a black strapless cover-up dress, and a red towel with black vines embroidered all over it.
I ran back to Nick with my stuff and we headed out the door to his house. It was only down the street, so we didn't need to drive.
We soon arrived, and I entered the familiar doorway with ease. It had been years since I had been there, but the house still felt like a second home to me.
"Mom, I'm back!" Nick called from behind me. A curly haired brunette stuck her head out from the kitchen
"Okay ,Hun- oh? Who's this?" she smiled nervously at me. I strode over to her and pulled her into a hug.
"Come one, Mrs. Clannel! You don't remember me?" I said happily. She still looked confused and nervous. She obviously didn't recognize me. "I'm Ivy. Nick and I used to be best friends. When we were little." Finally, she smiled widely at me.
"Oh my goodness, Ivy? Is that really you? I haven't seen you in years! What are you doing here?" she asked while hugging me back.
"We moved back here! Me and My Aunt J." I replied happily.
"Oh, I'm sorry about your parents. I heard about them right after you moved. That's so awful!" I nodded and looked at my feet sadly.
My parents had been murdered about a year after we moved away. It happened while I was at school, and I was the one who found them. They had been practically slashed to pieces, so I spent a few years in therapy and counseling to get over that. But I hadn't thought about it for years now.
"Yeah, well... I'm okay now." I said awkwardly. I looked over at Nick, but he was examining a snow globe with a sudden fascination.
"Yes, well, I'm so glad your back. Nicky here didn't eat for weeks after you left. Heartbroken, he was. Now you're here to fix him up!" I blushed furiously, and Nick chose that moment to walk over to us.
"Okay, mom, that's enough." He said. "Come on, Ivy. My room-" I cut him off and ran up the stairs to my right. I knew exactly where his room was, and walked right in.
"Holy-" I gasped. On entire wall was covered with pictures of girls- most in various states of undressing. The bed in the middle of the room was covered in magazines and food. A shiny new laptop sat on a desk against the wall, but it was the only clean thing in the room.
"Yeah, umm..." Nick mumbled as he stepped up behind me.
"Sweet! Potato chips!" I cheered and jumped on his bed.
"Ivy?" Nick asked nervously. I looked up at him.
"What? I'm hungry!" I protested. He just nodded and walked over to the dresser. He pulled out a white suit with swirly designs all over it.
"Lets go." He grabbed my arm and pulled me out as quickly as he could. I followed him downstairs and waved to Mrs. Clannel as we passed by.
"Seeya Mrs. C!" I called. She smiled and waved back before we disappeared around the door.
"Pools at my house." I informed Nick as he pulled me down the street.
"Really? Cool." We soon arrived and split off to separate bathrooms to change. I came out first and pulled on my dress. Nick walked out and I almost gasped.
He was HOT. Like really hot. Like drooling hot. He had nice formed muscles and a great... umm... he was just... amazing.
"Hey. What up Ivy?" he waved his hand in front of my face.
"Huh? Oh, sorry." I mumbled and walked out to the deck of the pool. It was large, in ground and had a small diving board off to one side. Pool chairs littered the tile deck and a small tiki bar stood off to one side. It was Aunt J's new pride and joy.
Nick jumped in right away, and I slowly peeled off my dress. Nick turned in the pool but when he saw me he blushed furiously and looked away.
Nick's P.O.V.
I looked away quickly when I saw Ivy. She was standing on the deck and pulling her cover-up dress thing off. It slid to ground and revealed her perfect legs, and her amazing curvy body.
<Don't think like that, Nick. She's your friend!> I yelled at myself inside my head.
<Yeah, but she's even better looking than your girlfriend. Dude, take the chance!>
<Shut up. I'm not doing it!>
<Well, there's no harm in looking is there?>
I slowly turned to look back up at Ivy. She stood there smiling at me. She was wearing a nice fitting black bikini with little skulls on it and had her hair pulled up in a long pony. She looked beautiful.
"Nick? " she said.
"Uh... yeah?"
"I said; Can I come in now?" she asked, laughing at the stupid look on my face. I nodded.
She took a running jump and slid easily into the water. I snapped myself back into reality and slashed her as soon as she came up.
"Hey! That wasn't fair!" she squealed, shaking water off her hair.
"Yeah it was!" I shouted, and she bombarded me with kicks and splashed of water. It soon turned into a full out water battle, and by the time I surrendered it was getting dark.
"Oh, crap. We should go in soon." Ivy said nervously. She looked out at the dark shadows appearing all over the fenced in pool, and gulped as the sun sank down under the trees.
"Ivy? Is something wrong?" I came over to her but she climbed out of the pool and grabbed her towel. I followed her out and dried off. She looked at me and I saw the fear in her eyes.
"I, umm... I'm scared of..." she trailed off, her eyes skittering over my face as I looked at her with concern.
"Your scared of what? Tell me!"
"THE DARK!" she finally yelled, then blushed as her outburst echoed around the pool. I pulled her close to me and led her inside.
"There you two are! I almost thought you drowned!" Ivy's Aunt exclaimed as we stepped into the house.
"Yeah, well..." Ivy mumbled. Her embarrassment at her fear was obvious, but I didn't care. It was actually kind of cute!
