The school was huge. That was the first thought that crossed my mind, right before; "OMG It looks like it's gonna rain today." I walked. Nick offered me a ride, but, given his risky riving, I presumed it would be safer to get some exercise.
The stares started as soon as I set foot on the marble pathway leading up to the front steps. Everyone turned to look at me. EVERYONE. Most in disgust, a few looked confused, and one kid laughed. I glared at him before smacking him over the head with my black messenger bag. (OUTFIT IN PIC) Before I could push through the heavy glass doors, though, a shiny red high heel stopped me.
"What are YOU doing here?" Cassie sneered at me. Mickendra and Stacey stood loyally behind her, like bulldogs guarding their master.
"Hmm... Well, I don't know if you've realized this yet, but this place is called a school. It's where children go to learn. That's why your mommy sends you here every day!" I giggled comically as Cassie glared.
"She already knew that!" Stacey flipped back her hair and stomped her foot.
"Shut up, Stacey. Not helping!" Cassie growled under her breath.
"Oh, good! Your almost smart enough to find your way around now! I'm sure you'll be able to walk without Spazzy and 'Kendra soon."
"You dirty little B*tch! How dare you!" Cassie pulled her hand back as if to hit me, but it was caught midair by someone standing behind her.
Nick stepped up. He looked around at Cassie, then me. I grinned at him cockily.
"She was being so mean to me, baby!" Cassie started to sob. She clung to the front of Nick's shirt.
"Really. " he said with an air of strong disbelief.
"Yes! She called me a sl*t and said that she was a better match for you than me!" Cassie took out a tissue from her purse and wiped her eyes. They were completely dry, with no sign of the tears she had been "crying" just seconds before.
"I didn't. Now, if we are done here, I'm going to be late. I have to see the principal first to get my schedule. Ta-ta!" I waved at Cassie who flipped me off behind Nick's back. Then, she grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him down for a particularly sloppy kiss. I groaned. I could have gone my whole life without seeing that.
I easily found the front office- there was a glowing map in the lobby, like that ones you see at the mall. The office was huge and empty, except for a funny looking secretary dressed in all black sitting at a glass desk. Glass seemed to be a theme at this school.
"Can I help you?" she asked, smiling. She seemed cool... for a secretary.
"I'm here to pick up... Mr.Thanin's dry cleaning." I told her, reading the name off the glass door behind her.
"... His dry cleaning?" she asked, staring at me over her tiny, wire-rimmed glasses.
"Yes. It's very urgent. He told me that he has some... stains that he doesn't want his wife to see, or something like that." I replied sincerely.
"Mr. Thanin doesn't have a wife." The secretary coughed.
"Right... um... actually, this is a robbery. I have a gun!" I declared.
"Mr. Thanin!" the secretary called. She actually winked at me. A skinny, young-looking man came out of the office behind her.
"Yes, Syd?" he didn't look like a principal... more like a cool college student.
"This young lady here is planning on robbing us. Isn't that lovely!" the secretary told him.
"Well that's one I haven't heard! What can I do for you?" Mr. Thanin grinned at me.
"I'm Ivy McLaren. New student." I shook his hand.
"Good! Here's your schedule. And a map... this is a big school. Do you have any questions?"
"Nope. Thanks." I walked out of the office, and waved through the windows at the pair.
Why couldn't everybody at this school be like them?
Alright, hope you enjoyed it :) I might post another one today, but for now I'm gonna go eat ice cream.
