My phone rang in my pocket right after I arrived home. I took it out, and saw Peter's number (we also exchanged phone numbers; it's what friends do) on the screen, and I answered the phone.

-Hey!

- Hi Amy! I was wondering if you would go to the park with me?

-Is this a date?, I said mockingly.

-Uh...no? What? Two friends can't go to the park together?, he said, and then added an awkward laugh at the end.

-Yeah yeah. Okay. When?

-Um...now? If possible?

-Sure! , I answer, happy.

-Great! See you! , he says, obviously happy.

-Bye Peter!, I answer, happy as well.

Although I was disappointed in the fact that this wasn't a "date".

I changed into a new shirt (even though this wasn't a date, I still wanted to look nice), a cute orange cardigan, a brownish-orange skirt, and brown tights. I accessorized this outfit with a brown, silk scarf, and short, elegant, black boots. Maybe I was trying too hard. I don't know.

The park was close to my home so I decided to walk the block or so to reach it.

The cold air whipped my hair from side-to-side when I stepped outside. I quickened my pace and continued walking, ignoring the chilly wind.

All around me, red, orange, and yellow leaves fell down, sailing and twirling and making me imagine them dancing in the cold, evening wind, as they fell down, to their death. Sounds harsh, I know. But it is what I think, having experienced many of my close ones dying.

After a few minutes of walking, I finally saw the small, but inviting, park, in front of me.

Peter stood there, in a brown, warm sweater, looking very handsome. But he, I reminded myself, thought of me only as a friend.

When he saw me, a grin spread across his flawless face while his dark hair was ruffled by the wind. He waved to me, his eyes the color of sapphires.

I smiled and waved back as I walked towards him.

-Hey!, he said.

-Hey. Have you been waiting here for long? Sorry I took so long!

-It's fine. I only arrived here myself a few minutes ago.

-Yeah right. Anyways, thanks for waiting!, I answered.

-Come on! I need to show you something!, he called out.

He took my hand, pulling me after him. And then he started running.

The wind smashed into my face but I ran after him, still holding his hand.

We ran through the trees, along the pathway, until we reached whatever he wished to show me:

Surrounded by bushes, was a small, rock cliff, and a few feet under the cliff, clear water splashed from side to side.

The sunlight shone on my surroundings. Near the cliff grew daisies and other wild, but still beautiful, flowers. Ferns grew near the water, also.

On the other side of the creek could be seen bright, clean, untouched sand.

It was clear that not a lot of people visited this.

-You can sit here, if you want. , Peter said in calm, welcoming voice, and motioned the space near him. He was already sitting on the small rock cliff.

I sat down next to him.

-Peter, do you believe in heaven?

He remained silent for a few seconds clearly taken aback from my question, but then relaxed and answered:

-I guess.

-Do you think...my parents are there? And Kayla?

-Yeah.

We both remained silent after that, looking down at the water.

After a few minutes, he took my hand. Again. Not that I didn't want him to. Of course I did. I loved him! Only...I don't know if he had the same feelings towards me.

Probably not, though. I mean, sure, he stared at me often and took my hand a few times. But friends also do that.

And anyways, what was there to love about me? I wasn't especially pretty, I wasn't popular, and I wasn't really interesting. I do play the violin, and I am good at it, I will admit, but except for that, I wasn't anything except for normal and average.

We stayed there for another half-hour, not talking, until he said:

-I better go. It's growing late already.

I looked down at my watch and realized that, indeed, it was already eight o'clock.

-Okay. Bye! , I say, waving at him and walking back.

-Bye! , he says, and goes his way.
