sadness that is all she felt she could feel every day at day at school she did nothing said nothing felt nothing...was nothing

she did the work she was at school well her body was at least she was just a mindless zombie never smiling she did not even go with her bike anymore she walked the 5 miles everyday wearing sweatpants and a hoodie 

she would get to school early sit on the stairs and stare at her hands thinking about all the awful things that had happened to her 

her grades fell, she got fired from the cafe sure she had many other jobs to pay the bills but it was not the same she missed playing dress up and singing it was her only outlet ...well that and her dagger 

her scars had grown plentifuller, from her shortage of food she had become skinnier and weaker you could her ribs you could hear them move as she walked

soon the feared Athena goddess of war was Athena the quiet kid in the back who never really talked 

it was Friday 3rd period and Athena was walking to lunch not that she had anything to eat she never did 

she was not watching where she was going and knocked into mia purring mia's juice on her in the process 

"Oh my glob you bitch!!" mia screeched 

athena did not respond not even looking up she just turned around and marched to the library where she found a corner and cried 

why was she crying? was it mia's words? no that couldn't be it, no ones words made her cry not after...him

so what was it? for the life of her she could not figure it out, all she  knew was she just had to cry and cry hard 

"hey need any help?" a mysterious voice said 

'Ethan'

she thought as soon as she heard the voice she immediately froze up she would normally run just at the sight of him

but not today for you see she was far too tired to run or walk or even move she just sat there crying not knowing what else to do 

"hey hey hey it's going to be okay, " Ethan said as he sat down next to her not close enuff to touch but still close 

so close that Athena could smell him and man did he smell good he smelt like the rainforest after a heavy rain shower

she slowly looked up at Ethan she never noticed how handsome he was before his green eyes locked with her grey ones 

(i can't remember what they look like sorry!!!)

he just looked so perfect so so so...

"beautiful," Ethan said it sounded as though he was thinking out loud and he said it so quietly Athena was surprised that she even heard it 

"what?" Athena said 

who was he talking to? she couldn't figure it out none else was there and he couldn't be talking to her, could he?

"huh?" Ethan said sounding confused 

"who are you talking to?"

"you who else ?"

"no, i mean when you said 'beautiful' who were you talking to then?"

Ethan only stared at Athena as if looking for something then a flash of emotion showed on his face but left just as quickly 

"what?"Athena asked she did not like the way he looked at her it was strange and unpredictable she moved a bit to left away from him

he looked sad when he noticed what she had done so he moved closer to her bumping shoulders in the process 

'mate'

she jumped up and touched her shoulder, sparks she felt sparks it couldn't be  no she couldn't have a mate 

so she ran out of the library, she made to the busy hallway 

"ATHENA" she heard Ethan call her name the whole hallway seemed to stop and part for him as he charged towards her 

she being the normal human being that she is running even quicker but her lack of food, heavy backpack and lack of a ride was extremely slow so slow that she only made it to the school gates before Ethan gripped her 

"wait," Ethan said as he grabbed the hood of her hoodie pulling her back

"what!" 

"why are you running away from me?" he said as he let go of her hood

athena did not respond instead she just kept walking to her apartment

"Athena wait," he said as he grabbed her hand sending jolts of sparks through her arm she yanked her hand away from his grip shook her head and kept walking 

"i know you feel it too" 

she kept walking

"Athena!"

nothing.

"Athena!!"

still nothing

"ATHENA!!!" he roared 

she froze his voice sounded so much like... his, too much like...his and she hated it so she for the third time today she ran 

"stop!!"

she could see her apartment up close but she didn't want him to know where she lived so she rand to the woods behind the apartment block 

she knew these woods like the back of her hands it was the perfect place to hide
