Chapter 4

Marcus P.O.V

"Yo, Alpha Marcus" Jake, my Beta says while inviting himself in my office.

"What is it Jake? I'm busy" I say not looking at him as I continue to check on the taxes. Being the Alpha of the Golden Moon Pack with almost 5000 members is tiring. You need to think about anything, food supplies, electricity, water, gas, and everything else just to make sure all your people is accommodated enough and is living well. Need to think about the safety as an attack out of know where might happen. This just adds my respect to my father as he was such an amazing Alpha.

"Nothing, College is starting in two days and after taking a year off, you'll finally finish your degree as an Engineer" he says, now sitting at chair across my table. Yes, there's that too. I didn't plan on continuing since I'm now the Alpha, but my mother insisted and so I end up enrolling last month. 

"Yeah. I'm not looking forward to it." I said still continuing signing papers. This is too tiring. "Why are you hear anyways? Did you finish all the paperwork I asked you to do?" He snorts and nodded. "If so, then there's more. I could really need some help." He didn't say anything, but reach out for the papers and started reading and signing it.

We finish doing the paperwork around dinner time and I could see that Jake felt relieve when he heard Cecilia, one of omega and a cook called us that dinner is ready.

"Man, I'm so hungry. Let's go" he says and frantically ran off. I just rolled my eyes. 

Meal time is my favorite time as this brings the whole pack all together, well except for those who already have a family of their own and has built houses around the pack house. It's never a dull moment with these people. It makes me happy seeing them happy and I tend to keep it that way. As we it, you can hear there's a different stories going on, you can just choose which story you'll take part in. I smiled. I love my family.

Fast forward to Sunday night

While arranging the stuff for tomorrow, my mom mind link me.

"Hey love, you all settled for tomorrow?" My mom ask.

"Mom, it's just College. A bag, a notebook and a pen is all I needed. Besides, I still don't need these sketches and everything until next week" I told her, still continuing to arrange everything. After I finish, I went to the bathroom to take a shower. "Mom, I'm going to take a shower so that I can sleep. Goodnight."

"I'm just asking. Okay goodnight. Love you" She says with a huff.

I laugh a little as I said "Love you too" and cut off the link.

My mom worries a lot, but I don't mind one bit.

After finishing up, I went to bed without worries.

Fast Forward

The next morning, Jake was so excited we ended up arriving early. Seriously, what is wrong with him and what is wrong with me that I didn't actually scold him for this. 

Time flies so fast that now we are headed to the cafeteria as our next lesson starts in an hour. We brought food and drinks and look for an empty table, when we found one we immediately sat down and chat, a moment later one of our classmate joined us. 

As time goes by, I notice that the cafeteria is getting full, but we didn't bother getting up. I went back and talk to Jake when I caught a sniff of a lemon and honey. Fuck that smells good. I was about to stand up when I notice that the smell is getting closer so I waited, but then Jake showed me something in his phone and I got distracted. After a while, the smell is now much stronger so I look up and there the most beautiful girl I've seen is standing in front of me and is staring at me. Is she here because she smell something too? Is she a human that's why she's here in front of me and is just staring at me? As we stared at each other, my heart beats louder and louder, I want to say something but I can't, my tongue is tied in a knot all of a sudden. She didn't say anything either, is her tongue tied too? I wish it was tied with mine. Wait what? Yes I want that, but not so soon. I don't even know her name.

Say something, dammit! I said to myself. But I don't know what to say. Say hi or hello or how are you or something! Come on! As I gather my confidence, Jake already beat me to it.

"Hi, can we help you?" He ask the girl in front of us. The girl, turn her head to look at Jake and she blush. Too cute!

"No, I'm sorry, excuse me" and she hurriedly left.

For some reason, I feel like magic was lifted and I can now breathe again. I sigh and glared at Jake. He notice and he raise both his hands in surrender.

"Okay, what did I do?" He ask confused

"Nothing. You're so annoying" and with that I stood up and went on ahead as we only have 10 minutes left, before the second lesson starts. I heard Jake calling me, but I ignored him.

I plan on searching my mate around school, but I don't know where to start. I can just sniff her smell, but as of now I can't smell her. Now I loath the fact that we can wear any clothes in the first week. With uniform, then I can just easily tell what course she's doing. She's been running in my mind ever since then until I'm now in my need, getting ready to sleep.

Tomorrow, tomorrow I'm going to look for you, my mate. I thought to myself.
