Chapter 13

Marcus P.O.V

Four Days Earlier

"If ignoring her hurts, why are you doing it then? You like her right?" Jake ask.

We are currently in my suite playing video games.

"You don't understand" I said

"Then make me understand. You can always talk to me." He says sincerely.

I think for a second and decided to tell him the whole story. I told him that Stacy is my mate and that she is a warlock. Jake furrowed his brows but didn't say anything so I continued. I told him all my worries, like how my parents and grandfather react, how he and his family will react and how the whole pack will react if they know that I'm mated to a warlock. I told him I am torn, because I don't want to reject Stacy, but I just don't know what to do. After I told him all this, we both fell silent and then he took a deep breath.

"Look, you can't let the past ruin your chance of being with your mate. Yes, we can't just easily forget what happened, but it's been a long time. I'm sure most of the people here already move on. I move on and even if I didn't, I wouldn't let it get in the way with your happiness. Knowing that you cared so much for us to the point of sacrificing your love is enough. You deserve to be happy." He finally says.

"But"

He rolled his eyes. "Seriously, it's up to you. Just make sure to make the right decision okay? Make sure you're not going to regret anything." He says and continue playing.

I thought a lot about what he said and made my decision. I fish out my phone from my pocket and dialed Stacy's number when she said that I can call.

I rang for a long time that I was about to put it down when I heard my angel's voice.

"Hello?" 

"Hey, were you busy?" I ask

"No. So, what is it?" She ask. My heart squeeze painfully.

"Oh, uhm, I actually wanted to talk to you about us?"

"Hmm? There's still an 'us'?" She said coldly. Okay, I deserve that.

"Look, I'm sorry okay? I know this took me too long, but please let me explain" I pleaded.

"Explain what exactly?" She ask innocently

"About my behavior towards you. Why I treated you the way I did this past weeks" I explained

She fell silent silent for a moment and then agreed finally. So, I asked her if we can meet up like right now and she ask me where, I just told her that I'll go to her house as I don't want her to wonder anywhere at night alone just to meet me. We bid our goodbyes' and I immediately stood up and fetch my keys. Jake didn't bother asking me where I'm going, cause he already knows.

One hour later, I'm already standing in front of her gate and texted her. Moments later, I heard her cleared her throat and so I look at her and smiled. She getting more prettier than the last time I saw her.  We exchange 'Hi's' and she asked me how I'm doing, I told her I'm not okay and that I miss her, I notice that she was about to cry so I slowly reach out my hands and she took it, I pulled her into me and hugged her tightly. She let go of me later on and ask me what happened.

I sighed and started explaining myself. I told her that I hate her kind and that being with her is difficult, I then proceed on telling her about what happened to my pack eleven years ago. I told her how I just want to kill every warlocks I encountered. While I was telling her my story, she just listens to me silently while crying. I hate seeing her cry.
