The other side

*Hope's pov*
I woke up the next morning and my ankle didn't hurt anymore. Luckily for me because Josie was fully laying on top of me. I moved a little bit but she woke up. She raised her head that was really close to mine. "Good morning gorgeous" I said smiling. She rolled over and looked back at me. "Good morning! Sorry for my sleep position" she said with a shy tone. "Oh you know I love every position" I said with a wink. "Silly" she said throwing a pillow at me. "What are we doing today" she asked when her face got less red. "I have a big test tomorrow and I didn't have time to study this weekend so I'm going to study in the library" I sighed. "Oh" she murmured with a sad face. I grabbed her hand and said "we're going to hangout tonight, okay?" I asked. She nodded.

I spent the day in the library studying. I was so tired when I got finished. When I got in the room, Josie wasn't there so I texted Lizzie. "Do you know where's Josie?" I texted her. "She went to take a walk in the forest" she replied. "Okay thanks xx" I texted back. I walked in the woods for a little while before I found her. I decided to scare her. I ran up to her from behind. "BOO" I shouted as I shook her shoulders. "AHH" she screamed. "You scared me so much!" Jo said slapping my arm. I burst out laughing. "What are doing here?" I asked. "I just needed to think. I got a little in trouble with Penelope" she murmured. "I'm going to kill her" I said feeling a rage attack coming. "No you're not. I can protect myself" she said grabbing my hand. I hummed and looked down. "It's not your responsibility to protect me, even if I appreciate it a lot" she said. "You know I could give my life for you, to protect you" I said. "You'll never have to do it" she said. "Come on let's walk!" she said dragging me. We walked hand in hand for a while.

Suddenly, I heard branches cracking behind us. Then, a silhouette ran in our direction. I knew what was happening; another vampire was coming for the twins. He was going to attack Josie but I got in front of her and got hit instead of her. "Josie go warn your dad! Now" I shouted looking in her direction. She ran in the school's direction. The vampire tried to follow her but I got in his way. I knew I would have to fight until one of us died...

*Josie's pov*
When I got to the school, I directly went in my dad's office where I was sitting. "What's happening?!" he asked me when I saw how agitated I was. "Vampire.. Attack.. Hope.. Forest" I said. I couldn't even make sentences. "Calm down Josie and tell me what's happening" he said trying to calm me. "There's a vampire who attacked us and Hope is fighting it right now. He's probably coming for me and Lizzie" I finally said after I calmed down a little bit. "My dad picked up his phone and called Emma, the councilor. "We need to lockdown the school now! I'm going to explain everything later" he said before he hung up. "Where is she?" he asked. "I'm going to show you" I said. "You're not coming" he said with a strict tone. "Dad, we're talking about Hope. She's risking her life, again, for me. I have to come" I said. "Okay.." he said knowing that I wouldn't have surrendered.

When we arrived at the emplacement me and Hope were earlier, we saw the end of the fight. I saw a silhouette stacking a piece of wood in the other person's heart. One of them fell on the ground. We got closer to see the vampire who attacked us on the ground. There was blood everywhere. Hope was still standing up. "Hope!" I said when I saw her. She turned around and looked at me. I saw her eyes closing and she nearly fell on the ground. I caught her a little before she hit the ground. "Hope?!" I said trying to wake her up. She wasn't moving and her heartbeat was nearly perceptible. "Dad, I need help!" I said tears streaming down my cheeks. Her vampire side wasn't triggered yet and I wanted her to stay human so we could get old together. My dad carried her in the infirmary. When the nurse took her pulse. She said her heart wasn't beating anymore. She had big scratches all over her body and she was bleeding a lot. She started to reanimate her. She told me I had to leave. I waited in the waiting room for hours. After a while, my dad sat beside me. "Her heart is beating again but she was dead for a while. She's in the coma for now. You can come if you want but it might be difficult for you to see. She's really injured and the fact that she isn't conscious really slow down her healing process" he explained. I got up and walked in the room. She looked so miserable and seeing her like that made me want to cry. I sat on the chair beside her bed and gently grabbed her hand. "Hope.. Please come back to me. I need you here. You can't leave me" I murmured. "I'm going to let you alone with her" my dad said before he left the room. "You didn't have to protect me. I'd rather be in your position than to see you like that.." I whispered. "You have to get well soon... I can't live without you. We didn't got enough time together. I love you, my little wolf". I stayed there for hours. I couldn't leave her.
