'Do you really think this is the one I should wear?' Noel asked. She was holding a pink tube top across her front and gazing at the mirror.
'Yes,' Shane replied, and handed her a black pair of leggings and a black over coat. The outfit looked cool. He knew better about clothing than Noel.
'Give me five minutes.' she demanded.
'You are not coming back before 30.' Shane cooed.
He knew her.
Noel was preparing for a date. And there was no one besides Shane who could give her the perfect advice.
'Don't even dare to smile in front of him. He's gonna freak out and run already.' Shane teasing.
Noel showed him the bird. 'if he freaks out, I will make sure my beauty is the reason for it.'
Shane sniggered.
'Beauty! Really? I never knew ghouls are pretty.'
Shane was always teasing her. But he also was the only one being there when anyone else teased her.
Noel loved the way Shane was always the support her posture needed.
He was like her alcohol, celebratory shots on the good days, comforting pegs on the bad.
'I don't think I need the coat.' Noel examined herself in the mirror. She could see her bare abs and perfectly chiseled collar bone beneath the minimal tube top.
'You need it. Your guy might think that you are too desperate. That you want to gift a skin show on the first date to impress him.' he chewed on the tortilla chips, 'wear the coat.'
'If you're worried about the skin show, why in the first place did you choose this top?'
'It is art. You need to stay in the perfect balance of the skin show or its lack thereof, on a first date. It must be enough for him to know that you are wearing it, but it must also be enough for him to know that it's beneath a large jacket, which definitely is bad ass...You need to give him that come hither look at the same time as the stay away look. And so, it's perfect.' Shane explained.
'That's a hell lot of imagination. Were you really thinking all that when you chose it or is it just the spur of the moment?'
'Told you, this is art.' Shane winked.
