Chapter 18

"What store next?" I asked before taking a sip of my Starbucks drink.

"Forever 21?" Makayla asked, getting on Brent's back for a piggyback ride.

"Okay." Everyone said in sync. I walked over to Jai, holding his hand tightly and looking up at him with a smile.

"Hey, shorty." He smiled back, then looked forward.

"Shorty?" I repeated.

"Yeah, your shorter than me." He said in a duh tone.

"One day I'll be your height." I scowled him playfully, swaying our arms back and forth.

"Sure." He rolled his eyes. I let out a breath, looking up to see that Forever 21 was just up ahead, and Brent and Makayla were running ahead, laughing.

"Wanna skip?" I asked, looking behind us to see our friends talking to one another.

"Sure." We held hands tightly, skipping our way to Forever 21, smiling on our way there.

Ooo, this is cute. Don't you think this is cute?" I hung up a no sleeve dress that was white on the top and hot pink at the bottom.

"Yeah, I guess." Jai answered, not looking up from his phone.

"You didn't even look at it." I whined, glaring at him.

We were now in Papaya, one of my favorite stores.

"Yeah, it's cute." He smiled for a second before continuing. "Defiantly on you." His amazing smile turned into a hot smirk while winking at me. I blushed a light pink, turning around to the changing area to change back into my regular clothes.

"Alright, let's go." I said to my friends after I paid for the dress. We walked out of Papaya, and then out of the mall, the coldness hitting me.

"It's freezing." I shivered, wrapping my arms around myself.

"It's not hot, it's actually pretty cold." Jai paused in his sentence, handing me my sweater that I made him hold for me. "Well, temperature-wise, that is." He smirked as he winked at me, grabbing my hand and twisting my wedding ring around my finger.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you more." He whispered back, kissing me on the forehead.
