Cassie's POV

He was just sitting there. I was getting all worried and he is just sitting here staring at his phone.

But his look. It was a mix of pain, anger, and what looked like happiness. I was now genuinely confused.

"She.....she......who does that?"

"What? What is it?"

I didn't need to ask because right then and there, the look in his eyes explained everything.

"Hannah broke up with you didn't she?"

He just nodded.

But I still saw the tiniest glimpse of happiness left on his face. But why?

"Are you okay?" I asked gently.

He got up and walked out of the room. I watched him walk out the door and down the street. I guessed he must be going to the Starbucks right down the road. His best friend, Jerome Aceti, worked there for a few hours on the weekdays.

I understood the fact that he just might need a shoulder to lean on, so I vetoed the idea of chasing after him. Instead, I began the aimless search of entertainment by scrolling through endless pages of social media sites.
