Cassie's POV
"Like, can you not?" I managed to force through my giggles.
Carlee and I were in my room talking about random things. Not 3 minutes in and we were already on to the topic of Jerome and Mitch.
<Three hours later>
Carlee wouldn't stop hounding on me about Mitch. I had just told her 2 weeks ago about my crush and I already regretted it entirely. We were talking and giggling as we strolled down to Starbucks to meet Jerome. They both agreed to help me figure out why Mitch was so happy after going through a breakup.
After grabbing a booth together, Carlee and I chatted while we waited for Jerome to get off his shift.
When he finally walked out, I face palmed. I looked at Carlee through my hands to see her doing the same. He had walked out with Mitch by his side, looking clueless.
Out of our little "group", Jerome was the one who did the dumb things. This was nothing short of normal for him.
"Jeromeeeee" Carlee complained. "You weren't supposed to bring him with you!
"Oh really?" He retorted. "Then why did Cassie say we were talking to Mitch?"
"Talking about Mitch, Jerome, talking about Mitch." I sighed with my hands still over my face.
"Oh. Well, this is akward." Jerome said while making a face.
"You know, I'm just gonna go..." Mitch trailed off as he pushed open the doors and walked out onto the sidewalk.
After a good 3 minutes of just shaking our heads and sighing, Carlee and I finally got up to leave, leaving Jerome to himself.
When Carlee and I arrived back at our apartment, we found no sign of Mitch. We locked ourselves in her room and got down to business.
"I just don't understand, and I don't think that just asking him straight to his face will solve the problem"
"Right" Carlee said. "We need a smarter way to approach this."
Sadly it was Sunday, so after 2 hours of brainstorming with no results, the dread of highschool the next day was forced upon us.
<Time skip to 9am>
My car door shut with a slam followed by Carlee's on the opposite side of the car. Together, we walked up to the school, leaving the parking lot behind us.
"With this giant school, my chances of seeing Mitch are very slim." I thought.
When I looked up after entering the gates, the first thing I layed eyes on was Mitch. I had clearly proven myself wrong.
