"Catalina- Catalina (Last name)?"
"w-what happened..."
"you were shot- but don't worry the doctor was able too remove the bullet. give it three days and with medicine you should be good as new."
"Where am I..."
"you're in the hospital sweet heart."
"The...hospital?"
"Yes... now sleep child. you must be tired, I'll call the doctor in later so he can check on you."
And just like that. I was out like a light. I didn't have a dream, and my thoughts were foggy. In what must have been about an hour later, the doctor came to check on me. I was to sleepy to really pay much attention to him, most of my focus was on the room around me. It didn't look like a normal hospital but still had the same things. The room was white and a decent size for a single person; there was one window next to the bed that wasn't to comfortable. The room was cold but instead of smelling like disinfection or tooth paste it smelled like bleach and body oder. I tried to ignore it all and just looked out the window, "where am I?" I asked again.
The doctor stared at me, I looked like a mess. My hair was un-brushed and bags weakened the light in my blue eyes. He didn't answer, and I found it odd. He then began mumbling under his breath as he changed the bandages around my chest, "What happened to get me stuck in here?" I tried asking more questions, but I winced in pain when he pressed rubbing alcohol on the wound I had just a bit below my left breast. The doctor then began pining me down to continue, but why? I may have flinched but I wasn't acting defiant... He looked at me with curiosity in his eyes, he looked prepared for something.
After a few minutes he finished up with the bandages and got ready to leave, "When can I leave?" He stopped in front of the door, hand on the nob, "When your parents come to get you..." His voice was stern and numb. The doctor left closing the door behind him with a slight snap. When the door did this, something flashed in my mind... Jasmine and how her legs were shattered; I felt like vomiting but nothing came out.
~~Time Skip~~
It had been about two days till I saw the doctor again, he began asking me questions such as, "What is your full name? Who is your immediate family? what is your relationship with Jasmine (last name)?" I fell quiet and he took note of this. "How much do you remember about the party Friday (Date of party)?" I tilted my head lightly, "I remember being in the bedroom... Poppy came in and she was acting odd- After that I think I had some kind of panic attack? I don't know what it was... But Poppy had a gun and I freaked out-" He stopped me. "Who is this Poppy?" I swallowed not really wanting to talk about how I was kidnapped, or how Poppy shot at that kid only for me to step in the way, or that faceless man in the suit... "Do you mean Lucy (Last name)?" I nodded.
With a sigh he crouched down by the bed and placed his hand over mine, his expression changed to worry, "Is Poppy some fake name she told you?" I nodded no. "How do you know this 'Poppy'?" I took a deep breath, "She was not only a dear friend of mine, but also my crush... that's part of why I didn't fear her as much as I should have been..."
"And because she seemed like someone close to you, you trusted her?"
I nodded
"Why do you think she kidnapped you?"
"..."
"Catalina... What did she do once she had you."
His voice fell numb again, sending shivers down my spine. "S-she took care of me?"
"took...care of you...?"
I nodded
"she never tortured you, hurt you?"
I paused, then gave a stern no. The doctor looked confused, "Then what did she do...to 'take care of you?" I looked down at my legs that hung off the bed, my right leg swinging back and forth, "she fed me, gave me a room to stay in..." I trailed off mid-sentence. "Catalina. Did she kidnap you... or did you run away with her?"
"Wh-what? why would I willingly stay with a murderer- she killed her father- tried to kill that little boy- and-and that tall man at her house!"
"Catalina (last name)!"
I froze, only to flinch a bit when I felt something fall from my face... tears. I sniffed and used my free hand to wipe my face a bit. "who is this 'tall man' you speak of?"
"If I told you, then you'd just label me crazy in those dam notes of yours..." I snapped out at him and tears continued to fall, "Can you please answer my questions."
"Can you answer mine first..."
He stared at me, letting go of my hand. "Fine. If it'll get you to talk." I smiled at his response. "I know that nurse said i'm in a hospital...but this doesn't seem like one. So where EXACTLY am I?- Like city, address, name of this hospital, blah blah blah- that stuff." I swung my legs, it seems I had gained some energy over time, but I still felt tired. "Well I apologize for the misunderstanding but this is just an ordinary mental and health hospital."
"Why am I in a mental hospital?"
"'Mental and health'" He corrected
"don't even care anymore. why am I here?"
"you were shot of course."
"Dam and I thought doctors were supposed to be over the top in clarification, but you make everything more confusing." I lifted my hands to be more dramatic, something felt like it was clicking in my head. "Look i'm only here for the facts not to explain your life story through my notes."
I felt my fingers twitch, Why was I so fidgety? "Can you at least tell me what happened to Poppy?" He stared at me for a moment- "Ugh- What happened to Lucy (last name)." My words came out like commands instead of questions. He wrote something down on his clip board in silence then looked back at me. "Well we had a search team go into the woods to find her after she ran off. But we haven't found her just yet-"
"She's missing!?"
The doctor was taken aback by my sudden outburst, probably expecting 'She's still out there!' with an angry or scared tone, but I sounded worried and my voice even cracked up a bit. "Ow!" My chest began to sting from all the commotion. "Be careful not to loosen your bandages." I glared at him as he lied me back on the bed. After settling down a bit, he decided he'd leave the room. I simply turned my head looking out the window. The sun was setting and made the sky pink and orange. Clouds were highlighted to look like pink cotton candy and just a few stars were visible. "I kinda missed this... but I miss you..." I whispered to myself... what did I mean by my words? I don't know.
I suddenly felt sleepy and my eyes were half lidded. A small yawn escaped my lips and I fell limp on the bed. Allowing sleep to take over me.
((Oh Don't worry it's not over yet ^^ I think one more part and this story is over. I hope you liked this tho))
