Sam's P.O.V

I walked up the cobblestone pathway breathing heavy. Once I unlocked the door I heard sniffling. "Hello?"

There was no reply. I walked to the living where I saw Auggie crying. I frowned.

"Hey, why u crying?" I sat next to him. He was silent. "August." I said sternly. "Today's the day Mel died." Another tear rolled down his cheek. Omg I'm so stupid I should've known. I knew there was something goin on today, especially when I checked the date this morning.

"Damn come here" I said hugging him tightly. "Shh its gonna be okay." I sat there rocking back and forth with Aug in my arms until I heard light snores. I looked down and saw him sound a sleep. I carefully slid out from underneath, not to wake him and headed to the shower.

I was in there for about 15 mins. Once I got out I dried myself off and wrapped my towel around my body. As soon as I walked in the room I jumped. August was laying on my bed with his back to me, I smiled slightly and went to my closet to get dressed. I came back out and laid down on my bed he was knocked out once again. I got under the covers and closed my eyes I couldn't believe that I wasn't there for him today.

I couldn't sleep so I decided I was gonna go eat sum since it was only 3 in the afternoon and I hadn't had anything to eat yet.

Right as I was about to get up August stretched one of his long tattooed arms across my body and almost immediately his eyes shot open, he relaxed a lil once he realized it was only me.

"You good?" he nodded then scooted closer to me and closed his eyes... again. I chuckled lightly and tried to get up again but he tightened his grip on me. "Where you goin? Stay. Please." he begged.

"Ight," I sighed I guess I wasn't gonna eat anything jus yet.

"Sam?"

"Hmm?" I raised my eyebrows letting him know he had my full attention.

He paused. "Thank you"

I frowned looking at him. "For what?"

"For being there for me... thru everything. I really appreciate it," By now he was sitting all the way up and rubbing the back of his neck. "I can't explain how greatful I am to have you in my life I honestly am glad to have you help me out wit all my stupid mistakes and shxt."

I gave him a warm smile.

"Its no big deal I mean that's what friends are for right?"

"Right." We sat in silence for a few seconds.

"Well I guess Ima head back to my room I'll see ya in the morning. Night ma," he said before leaving out my room.

"Goodnight," I mumbled as he left. I laid back down and started thinking, it wasn't anything in particular jus random thoughts. Then I remembered my birthday was coming up soon.

I smiled at the thought. I need to figure out what Ima do, so far I got nothing. I shrugged it off and rolled over and sleep soon took over.
