WHEN ANNA ARRIVED BACK home, she had a love sick smile stuck to her face. Countless hours of talking to Stefan about his past memories was one of the best moments she's had in her lifetime. The next day, she woke up with the same smile she had the night before. She got dressed, drove to school, and talked to her friends with that smile.

The day before, Alaric had told his class to meet up in the cafeteria to discuss the founders day float. Caroline stopped by her locker and graciously walked with her to class.

"So these are the specs for the History department. For the Founders Day float we'll be recreating the battle of Willow Creek." Caroline walked in the cafeteria while Anna stayed and drank water in the hallway. The blonde sat beside Tyler, silently greeting him.

"Tyler has been nominated at the head of the production design." The jock looked confused as he asked who had nominated him.

"I did," Anna said, her voice echoing throughout the cafeteria. Everyone turned to look at her. She now realized she entered fashionably late, and smiled at her entrance.

"I've seen your sketches, they're amazing." Tyler gratefully smiled at the red head, who smiled back and sat beside Caroline. After scolding the two for being late, Alaric gave everyone an assignment for the float. Anna was in charge of outfit designs and co—in charge of decoration with Caroline and Elena.

The smile she wore all day faded faster then she had hoped, because she saw Elena and Stefan attached to the hip behind them. He met her gaze for a second, then turned back to Elena and laughed at whatever she was saying. Anna only felt anger wash over her. Did he just forget what she did for him? What he did for her?

Alaric walked up to the two, asking to meet up in his empty classroom. He looked past them and laid eyes on his niece, who was busying herself with work. The teacher excused himself from the couple and made his way to Anna, before telling her the same thing he told them. She nodded, confused as to why she was asked to talk, but she was more curious then confused.

THE CLASSROOM WAS DARKER than usual. The lighting looked less saturated without the windows open. It was an unfamiliar look to the classroom that Anna hated. She liked the light. Light gave it an innocence that everyone in the room knew it didn't have.

The couple had arrived before Anna had. She walked into the classroom avoiding the eye contact with the two and got straight to the point.
