Birthdays-

Ed shook you awake, one morning.

Before you realise anything that's happening, you are wrapped in a hug.

"Happy Birthday!" He grins.

Oh, wait a minute.

You completely forgot about that!

"Thanks. I completely forgot." You laugh.

He kisses your cheek. "Well? It's your day. What do you want to do?"

"I don't know..." You shrugged. "But let me get out of this bed first."

He laughed and nodded.

You took a long shower and freshened up.

"Took you long enough." Ed grinned.

You shrug and smile.

Lazily, you go and hug him where he's sitting.

He smiles against your stomach as you run your hand through his hair.

"That feels good." He whispers.

"You're tickling me." You laugh.

He laughs and stands up. "Now if I wait any longer, I'll forget it."

For somewhere, he gets this beautiful bouquet of flowers. It was so damn beautiful, you just don't want them to wilt.

"For me?" You grin.

"Nah. For the beautiful girl in the painting behind you." He rolls his eyes.

You look over your shoulder to see the painting of Ed and you in Limen.

"Happy Birthday, beautiful." He kisses your forehead. "Love you."

"Thanks, Ed." You smile. "Love you too."

"Now put that aside and come." He grins and you follow him out.

And soon you are in a quiet mountain side, where the nature is pure and simply gorgeous.

James sends you a beautiful dress as your birthday present. And you write him like, two pages just thanking him.
---
He does all this for your birthday and this is how his goes--

"Do you even want to wake up?" You shake him.

"Noooooo." He whines.

"Ed, come on now." You groan.

"Alright, alright. I'm up. Now what?" He sighs, sitting up.

"Happiest Birthday!" You grin, hugging the life out of him.

"Thanks." He says.

He takes your gift and thanks you. And that's it.

He is so secretive and he doesn't really like birthday parties or surprises when it comes to him and the only reason you knew his birthday date is because that's the first thing Peter told you when you started dating Ed.

You checked some old records and nothing mentions Ed's birthday.

He must not like celebrating much then.
---
It was your first day attending the Narnian council meetings.

Though Peter suggested that when you came first, you decided it's better you learn more about Narnia first.

And now you're certainly tensed.

"It's not a death sentence hearing, Storms." Ed laughed.

"It's not that, Edmund. I just don't know." You shrug.

And in the meeting itself, Ed was like a completely different person.

He had this grave expression on his face, listening intently. He spoke nothing unless his opinion is asked for. And in the court, his council and judgement was perfection.

He saw the little details no one could and he made sure justice was served.

No wonder he was The Just.

You thought Ed talked like any other person but it's only now you understand what others mean when they say he doesn't talk.

He attention and concentration was on point and he worked his part and helped others.

But that official grave expression never changed.

Maybe it is because of how less he speaks and more he listens is why he is better in judgement and council. And that's one area he's better than Peter.

Peter was way more talkative. Not that he didn't listen, though.

And even in the descriptions of the Kings section in the records, you find many things like this.

And you realised how less Ed actually speaks even he's with you and that's in his nature and you loved it.

Loved discovering things in random like this.
---
Ed grinned and rested his chin on his hand as she was talking non stop over dinner.

"That time I was, like, six? But we went to--"

He listened patiently but only a part of him understands what she's saying as his mind was wandering and wondering.

Wandering into ideas and places and wondering if she'd want to be with him forever.
