Chapten Eighteen

The next day was all about roaming. As said before, Limen was absolutely gorgeous and no one was ready to leave without tasting a bit of its beauty.

"Alright." You held your hat in place, against the soft breeze. You had been talking to Ed.

"Come on!" You heard Lucy's voice.

Then they spotted you and Ed.

"Adara!" They waved over.

"Congratulations!" Susan gave you a hug.

"Terrific match, that one." Peter followed and hugged you, followed by Lucy. "How was yesterday?"

"Thank You!" You grinned, "It was good."

Al and Alice caught up soon, "We wanted to greet yesterday, but thought you guys deserved a peaceful night."

"Either way, Congrats, you both!" Alice grinned.

You nodded your thanks and waited together for your carriages.

"Hello." You heard a familiar voice behind you.

"Augustus." You smile.

"Greetings on your victory." He nods at both of you. "Can I steal you for a minute, Adara?"

"Only if not literally." Ed deadpans, earning a soft punch from you.

"I must assure you, no." He chuckles and you follow him.

"I'm sorry if my previous behaviour was inappropriate. I wasn't quite aware about your relationship status." He says, sheepishly.

"Ah, no worries, Augustus. Happens." You smile.

"Okay, then. See you later? I have to catch up with Dave." He nods.

"Sure, see you." You nod and make your way back to your friends.

"Are those Redwood?!" You exclaim.

"I think so, yeah." Ed nods.

"Aren't those like extremely rare?!" You stare as you pass by them in your carriage.

Ed chuckles softly and presses a kiss to your cheek.

"What?" You ask.

"Nothing. It's very amusing seeing you all excited. Keeping your 'I got it' shell aside for a moment." He shrugs.

"Okayyy?" You laugh. "But those are extremely rare."

Ed shakes his head and grins.

"Woah, we should totally go mountaineering now." You gape at the majestic mountain in front of you.

"Now you've done it." Augustus sighs.

And before you figure out what you said wrong, you hear a voice of excitement.

"I told you they'd enjoy it, Gus!" It was David.

An afternoon of mountain climbing, you all settle for a quick lunch.

"What's the plan for the evening?" Lucy asked.

"Oh, wait and see." David answered and Lucy was just glad someone replied instead of patting her head.

"Oh my goodness." Susan grinned as a beautiful beach was in sight.

"Wow." You whispered.

"Right in time for the sunset, too. Though there's a bit of time left before that." David stretched and grinned.

You all settled down on the sand.

Ed sat down beside you.

"You wanna eat something?" He asks.

"We just had lunch but why not." You laugh.

"I'll go get something." He grins as he stands up.

"I'll come too." You stand up.

You walk over to a random shop that read, "Sheraqqof"

"What in the world is a 'Sheraqqof?'" Ed asks.

"Only one way to know." You grin.

"We could ask, but okay." Ed laughs as you both walk to it.

Turns out that Sheraqqof was a pretty cool piece of food. Made of bread and seriously looked like a small loaf but tasted like something you know and certainly delicious.

You threw your tissue in the dustbin to notice the sky has darkened noticeably. You looked up to see the sun just dipping near the horizon.

You walk back to Ed and smile, "Doesn't that look beautiful?"

"Very." He grins, but doesn't stop looking at you.

He suddenly pulls you close. You raise your eyebrow, "What are you planning?"

"Just a quiet evening." He smirks but doesn't look away.

You roll your eyes and pull him down so that he's in level with you.

"What's with you and pulling me down by my collar--"

You press your lips against his. He lifts you up but doesn't stop kissing.

"Very sorry to interrupt but we gotta go." David grins from behind.

"Ah, right, I'm sorry." Ed puts you down.

"Don't be." He laughs, waving his hand before walking away.

"Well." Ed shrugs, pressing one last kiss, "Let's go."

You grin and interlink your fingers, as you walk back.

"About time." Peter rolls his eyes. "We were wondering if you buried yourself under the sand."

Ed rolls his eyes and you both get inside your carriage.

Just as your carriage started, you heard a voice, "Hold on a minute!"

"Alice?" You smile.

"Thought I'd give this to you." She grins before running off.

As the carriage resumes, you see that she placed an envelope in your hand.

You opened it to find a photo.

"What is it?" Ed asks, peeking over your shoulder.

"A...photo." You grin. It was the one of you both kissing by the beach.

"When did she take it?" You laugh.

"More like, why did she take it?" Ed laughs.

"But that's so...nice. Spending time like this with you." You grin.

"I won't go anywhere." He presses a kiss to your forehead.

Heading back, you groan. "I'm so tired."

"Yeah, been a while since I rock climbed and all." Ed sighs. "No regrets, though."

"No regrets." You nod and smile.

Finding comfort in Ed's arms again, you are once more, reminded of the cruel time limit.

One day down, one more to go? And then, back in Arylia and before you know it, you'll be knee deep in work.

"Good night, Eds." You press a quick kiss and drift off to sleep. "I love you."

Ed is asleep to notice but who cares.
