"I know, it's on the telly! It's everywhere, they are lucky to be alive." Jackie Tyler exclaims as she walks out of the kitchen. She hands Rose a cup of tea and holds a finger letting Elizabeth 'hold on a second.'
Elizabeth nods and continues with her sci-fi novel
'One more chapter.' She thinks.
"Honestly, it's aged them. Skin like an old Bible. He's walking in now. You'd think I was her daughter. Oh, and he here's himself." Jackie rambled into the phone.
Mickey runs and looks at the two surprised. "I've been phoning your mobile! You could have been dead! It's on the news and everything!" Mickey plops down next to Rose on the couch.
"I can't believe that your shop went up! Hey Liz!" Mickey waves to the brunette on the chair.
She gives him a small two-fingered salute and dives back into her novel. "We're all right. Honestly, I'm fine. Liz is fine, don't make a fuss!" Rose said as her boyfriend gave her a hug.
"But, what happened?" Mickey asked. "I don't know," Rose lied. "What was it though? What caused it?" Mickey questions.
"We weren't in the shop. We were outside. Didn't see anything." Rose answered, setting her cup of tea on the coffee table. Jackie Tyler comes back in with the phone, "It's Debbie on the end. She knows a man on The Mirror, 500 quid for an interview."
"Oh, that's brilliant, give it here," Rose said sarcastically. Jackie hands Rose the phone and Rose hangs up and slams it on the table. "You've got to find some way of making money. Your job's kaput and I'm not bailing you out." Jackie says with her arms crossed.
The phone rings.
"Bev, she's alive!" The blonde mom exclaims into the phone. "I've told her and Elizabeth, sue for compensation."
"What am I suing?" Elizabeth asked Jackie as she shuffled out of the room. Rose rolls her eyes at her mom.
"They were within seconds of death!"
"She's still on about the explosion?" Elizabeth asked.
"What are you drinking, tea? No, no, no. That's no good! That's no good!" Mickey said grabbing their unfinished cups.
"Oi! I was drinking that!" Elizabeth yelled and wacks Mickey with her book.
"You're in shock. You need something stronger." Mickey said.
"Yeah, something stronger to hit you in the head! Give me back my tea!" Elizabeth said wacking him again. Mickey flinches and hands the cup back to her.
"I'm all right," Rose said. "Now, come on. The both of you. You deserve a proper drink. We're going down to the pub." Mickey said pulling Rose out of her seat.
"Actually, Mickey Mouse, I'm going home. I'm tired of being interrupted during my reading. Rose, I'll see you tomorrow. I'll come by tomorrow morning." Elizabeth said downing the tea.
