Rina’s P.O.V

I woke up stretching my arms. I slowly lifted the blankets off my legs admiring the silver coloring of my automail. Today is my 15th birthday. It has been 5 years since I lost 3 limbs. Ed got his arm back and Al his body. Things were going good and I was going to move to Tokyo for UA High or to attempt to get in at least. I put my legs on the ground hearing the slight clank of the metal. I walked out into the kitchen where Al, Ed, Winry, and Nana are all waiting for me.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” They all screamed in unison causing me to jump.

“I swear you are all trying to give me a heart attack sometimes.” I laugh

“Ri you know what today is right?” I nod at Eds’ question.

“Today I journey to the future.” I giggle. Here in Amestris things are simple. We have landlines and trains but in places like Tokyo, there are planes and cell phones.

"Ya but first we are going to celebrate,” Al said bringing out a small present. Winry got giddy at the sight of the small box.

“We all pitched in to get you this.” I gave them a puzzled look. Taking the small box in my hands I opened it. Inside was a small locket with a Flamel on it. Inside on one half was me with Al, Ed, Winry, and Nana but on the other side was a picture of me, Papa, and Mom. I could feel the tears prick the sides of my eyes.

“Thank you guys so much I love it.” They all smiled and hugged me. Winry helped me put it on.

“Oh, Rina you may need this as well.” Ed said handing me another small box. Inside this one was a key and an address.

“Oh my god, Ed you didn’t have to.”

“Well, I don’t want you to go to Tokyo only to live on the streets. Is that any way for a hero to live?” I wrapped my arms around him hugging him as tight as I could.

After a couple of hours of me hanging out and eating with my family, it was time to grab my stuff and leave. I quickly changed into something other than my PJs that something just so happened to be a baby blue sweater, black leggings, black combat boots, and my round gold-rimmed glasses. I grabbed my bag with things needed to live so my clothing, a couple of Papas’ alchemy books, deodorant, hairbrush, and a family picture. I shoved my keys in my pocket and made my way back into the main room.

“Ok, I have everything I think I’m ready to go.” I forced a smile.

“Let’s go everyone no need to waste time.” Nana exclaimed. Everyone funneled out the door making our way to the train station. It took a couple minutes but it was fun. We talked about the past and some of the adventures that the boys went on. I’m just glad that they are semmi normal again.

“Alright guys I’m off,” I gulped “To be honest I’m terrified.” They all chuckled at little nervous me.

“I’m sure you’ll find Katsuki and he will help you out right?” The simple mention of his name made my heart sink. After the incident I decided to block him out. Whenever he was in Resembol visiting his Grandma he would try to come and play with me but I refused to see him. I also decided to never answer his calls. Eventually he stopped trying. I’m sure he hates me and he will hate me more when he finds out about my not so small dissability.

“Ya I guess.” I smiled painfully. I gave them all one last hug and got on the train. It was finally time for my journey to Tokyo.
